Very good

Nice quaint bed & breakfast...

Liked: Great location and easy to find. Walking distance to the town of Ferndale. It was raining when we were there so we didn’t walk around the gardens but it looked really nice. Bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: We booked a room with a balcony but we couldn’t use it as the door was taped shut and the balcony did not look safe. We had to go out in the hallway to get to the bathroom.

Great weekend getaway for couples.

Liked: Shaw House Inn was quiet and clean with friendly staff. Location was excellent. We stayed in Betty’s room. It was small and cozy. The bed and linens were comfortable and clean. The claw foot tub was very relaxing. We spent sometime in the parlor downstairs doing some work. Breakfast was great and each evening there were a few cookies left out. It was a really nice touch. I would definitely stay again the next time I visit Ferndale.
Disliked: Nothing.

Great base to explore Ferndale

Liked: Amazing hospitality, cozy room walkable right into town. Delicious treats baked daily for guests! Highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Ferndale!
Disliked: Nothing! Had a fantastic experience at this B&B!

Comfortable, welcoming, homey, and magical!...

Liked: The house is absolutely beautiful, it’s worth staying here just for the magical timeless escape. The whole town is amazing with historic buildings everywhere you look. Inside Shaw House Inn I love how everything looks like it’s from a museum but is well maintained and sturdy enough for you to use without fear of breaking anything. It feels extremely inviting and homey. It’s very clean. No mildew smell or dust anywhere. They had nice glasses, cutlery, and china for us to use. We were able to use the dishes and microwave to heat up our left over thanksgiving dinner. Our room allowed dogs and had an amazing heater and bathtub. The mattress and pillows were luxurious! The landscaped yard was super fun, it even had horseshoe for guests to play!
Disliked: I honestly can’t think of anything to complain about!

Worth the money I paid,...

Liked: Location was a PLUS! Breakfasts were Guy Fieri proud for presentation, but also were very tasty. None were repeats in my 3 day stay. Heating was excellent for the cold nights & hot water was never lukewarm. Tub in room was ideal for romance. Room key opens both room and front door of house; so not sure how that works with other guest rooms/key-wise. Fruit, yogurt, some canned drinks were available 24/7 and water in a pitcher was available during the day. Within 1 block of main drag with restaurants and shops. Apparently, dog-friendly!!
Disliked: Bathroom with sink and toilet were a bit small & tight fit in "Betty's Room". Parking area for personal cars were really only for 4 cars before cars would have to stack up behind each other or park in front of house on street. Stairs to upstairs rooms were narrow steps and only 4' wide (truly late 1800's architecture). The place advertises CD players and DVD players, but none were in this room. Not sure about other rooms. The TV was small, the kind that fits on a kitchen counter. Plenty of room for a larger television. No cable TV, just app based/Roku.
