Located less than a mile from the Stratosphere and minutes from the Fremont Street Experience, you'll be perfectly positioned to catch live music and explore Vegas—without breaking the bank.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key, and Shalimar delivers with quick access to top venues on and off the Strip. The Double Decker city bus stops nearby and makes getting to your show a breeze. What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the value for money—especially given the location. Many mention the ease of using public transport and how fast they could get to shows or explore downtown.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t a flashy resort, so don’t expect luxury finishes. Some guests mention that the property is a bit dated, and you may hear some street noise depending on your room. But for the price and location, it’s a solid pick.

If your finances are limited,...

Liked: The only reason we booked a single night here was because the hotel/motel was close to the strip
Disliked: First of all, the property feels and smells old. It could use an overall improvement. We were told there was cable TV, but only four channels seemed to work. We called the front desk and sent two workers who had no idea why this might happen. It is very disappointing as TV is a massive source of entertainment when indoors. The 2nd issue was the room's AC unit, which was as loud as a diesel truck regardless of the setting, and the small refrigerator kept making this popping noise every 10-15 minutes. Overall, it was not a good night; we could not sleep, either too hot or too cold. On our next visit to Las Vegas, we will pay double the price for a decent night. As the saying goes, “You get what you paid for!”

Stay away as they will...

Liked: First night they put me in a first floor room where the AC was extremely loud, there were outlets on the bed side wall, some of the lights didn't work, the safe was broken, and overall a dump. The second night I stayed on the second floor and it was decent but I had guests I met there that had been there for a week and couldn't afford another night until a check was delivered the next day. All went okay except the Romanians were not getting along well as the wife and husband were in an abusive relationship and were yelling a lot. We came home from the casino at 2am and the husband was yelling outside in the parking lot and then in the room. I told him to shut up or we'd be kicked out. The night was quiet and the following morning I had a friend coming over and told them they had until 8am to leave and then the bitching and moaning started again and was very loud and probably woke up the neighbors. I attempted to stay another night the was told I'm banned from the hotel but was never warned about noise. Apparantly the hotel didn't like these Romanian gypsies and I got screwed over trying to be a good person and help them out for a night. Good thing they showed their true colors as I had invited them over for a week to my house for Easter and it would have been a nightmare and I would have kicked them out on the street most likely. Oh well whenever I attempt to help people in Lost Vegas it does not turn out well. Cheers
Disliked: Understanding and communicative staff

Bad

Liked: It was close to downtown and the pool looked to be very clean and the area around it was nice looking but The bed was sunk in in the middle and Room wasn’t very clean and not nowhere close to what the pictures looked like. Just a very unpleasant stay. But it was my first time in Vegas and I had traveled 12+ hours so I was just ready to settle in. Then there was homeless people around and alot of them was talking to theirselves and start hollering when people would walk by.
Disliked: The price for the room is very overpriced for the condition of the room.

Disappointing

Liked: Whole place smells of marijuana, unsafe sockets in rooms. No proper breakfast, place has long term grime and is in poor maintenance. Pool is a joke and it us surrounded by aggressive itinerant. I made a bad choice.

Passable

Liked: The staff were courteous. Drinks (Waters Soda) are reasonably priced which is of great help. Aqua restaurant in the facility was magnificent.
Disliked: The hotel has the ability to be a masterpiece but probably the management failed in their oversight. The bed sheets looks old, the room though big looked worn out. The bathroom had cockroaches and I could not use the shower because it was faulty. With a good facelift, it should be an attraction.
