Overall the hotel could do...

Liked: The location was good and the breakfast was ok
Disliked: Very old fashioned, old and shabby decor

Superb

Liked: Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Spa area very good. Staff are exceptional
Disliked: Guests overhead banging around in their room. Nothing about the hotel

Nice location in Carlow.

Liked: The staff were lovely. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: The key card kept failing. The decor is quite dated. The walls of the bedroom were lacking pictures or decoration of any kind. The breakfast was good, but not great.

If you love traditional style...

Liked: The room size was excellent and the newly refurbished bathroom was excellent too
Disliked: The furniture decor of this hotel is stuck in the 1950’s . It’s needs a SERIOUS amount of updating . The old world style does give it a very quirky feel though.

Not customer centered, good at...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. Staff were great.
Disliked: It was a very hot day and I noticed that lots of people were elderly, there was no bottled water in the room. I think this is a basic for the price of the room. I once stsyed in a very cheap Premier inn in th UK during a heatwave. They had a large bottle of iced water with lemon and limes and a tap with plastic cups on a table in the center of reception. The Seven Oaks had a floral display.There was no extendable mirror in the bathroom , there was no mirror suitable for putting on makeup.There needs to be more thought put in to what customers acctually need.
