Service Plus Inns and Suites Calgary

Three members of our families met at the hotel for the funeral service - one from Manitoba, one from Lethbridge and my husband and I from B.C. I use a walker and as we had no car; we had counted on the offered shuttle service. As the hotel has no dining room, we'd planned to eat at the casino. We were extremely disappointed in our stay.

Liked: The morning breakfast.
Disliked: Hotel rates in US dollars; no shuttle service.

Clean; bright; large and quiet. Great hot breakfast and parking.

Disliked: We booked our stay online. When we got there, they tried to charge me again for the room. We got it sorted out and I proved to them I had paid in full already. When morning came, there was an invoice under the door that said we still owed $175 for the room. The supervisor at the front desk made it a hassle for us to try and prove again that we had paid. The only thing is, we paid $229 for the room online. The room was only worth $175 in their records. They tried to charge us twice for something we had paid significantly higher for. Because of having to prove to them that we had indeed paid, we were late for our event across the way and did not have time for their breakfast.

Can't say enough about the front desk staff - very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. The morning breakfast was fantastic - lots of food, both hot and cold, and the tables were kept very clean with the wait staff always there for anything you needed. We will definitely make this our go to place in Calgary.

Liked: The staff at the reception was very nice and answered our requests promptly. The rooms are spacious.
Disliked: The breakfast is mediocre with previously frozen bagels. When food run out it took a long time to fill up. The most concerning thing was sanitation, no gloves were used by the staff when handling the food, the tables were not cleaned after people were done eating and some were while the person was still at the table eating (the staff was spraying the solution while the person eating was trying to cover his food to avoid solution getting in his food).There were no clean towels at the pool, had to go both days and ask the receptionis.

It’s a good hotel to...

Liked: Convenient breakfast, comfy beds, reasonably priced, helpful staff, and enjoying the water sliding at 8am when no one was there and looking LOL.
Disliked: Musty odour/funk in the hallway of the 1st floor going to our room. The tub jets seemed to have malfunctioned as they aren’t running other than on the tub floor.

Horrendous breakfast experience and dirty...

Liked: The room was clean, and the check-in process and room service was satisfactory
Disliked: The pool water was nasty to the point that my kids didn't want to go (first time ever). The room were breakfast was served was very dirty, sticky floor, and the breakfast itself was insufficient for the people attending. Empty trays all around, when some food was coming, it was finished within seconds. There wasn't even enough cutlery for everyone. It really felt they were overwhelmed very badly.
