Nice but could be better.

Liked: The staff was very friendly and nice the position was perfectly in the centre, the room was very nice, the bathroom was big and the bed very comfortable and even though we had a little problem with the room we were assigned they promptly changed it for us.
Disliked: The entire floor had been renovated and was still undergoing maintenance so there was a very strong paint smell both in the room and the hallway which was very unpleasant. It was a very hot day and there was no air conditioning in the room and it was the last floor so it was really hot all night it made it really difficult to sleep It would have been nice to have at least a fan or some way of cooling down.

Liked: The location, easy to get/find the room. Staff was amazing
Disliked: Room 102 had a shelf broken in the corner of a 4 needy bump (forgot to mention it to staff) but wasn't a huge issue. It was so bloody hot!!!!!! The rooms need aircon. It a fan. With the curtains pulled on the bumps you don't get privacy nor air flow. Also every stayer should get a towel to use on entry and then have it as a bond which needs to be returned on departure. For the amount you pay to sleep there we should get a free towel to use.

Liked: This place was well beyond my expectation. From a greeting smile of a blonde lady receptionist(didn’t get her name
Disliked: Been to more than 20 hostels since January all across eu. Defo has been best above rest in my opinion so far. So no complaint here.

Great hostel right in the...

Liked: Lovely and helpful staff (unlike in Malacuna Liverpool), room was nice and spacious with a corner view of two streets so you could watch the hustle and bustle. Good location if you want to be right in the centre.
Disliked: The duvet was really dirty under the cover- wish I didn't see it but the cover kept slipping off.Other things I didn't like were related to Manchester, not Malacuna (expensive parking, expensive pubs, noise, griminess, poverty...).
