Even without the bed bugs,...

Disliked: I really wish I could leave a more positive review, but unfortunately my stay started off on a very unpleasant note. Upon arriving, I took a short nap in the afternoon in my room. Later that evening, when I returned to go to bed and pulled back the sheets, I saw a bed bug crawling on the bed, along with the characteristic small stains they leave behind.I immediately contacted hotel staff, who confirmed it was indeed a bed bug and promptly moved me to another room. I appreciated the quick response. However, it appeared the bites had already happened during my earlier nap — I ended up with 7 red, itchy bites across my chest that have lasted several days into my holiday. Needless to say, this made for a very distressing start to my trip.In the new room, while I was relieved to be away from the original bed, the bathroom light didn’t work, and the general cleanliness left much to be desired — light switches, doors, and walls were noticeably dirty. This added to my discomfort, as I wasn't confident in the overall hygiene and felt anxious about potential contamination.Because of the bed bugs, I now need to wash all my clothes and belongings in hot water to prevent further spread — not ideal during a vacation. I did ask the hotel if they could offer a discount or partial refund as a gesture for the situation, but was told that moving me to another room was sufficient compensation. I found that response disappointing, especially considering the physical and emotional impact this had on my stay.To the hotel management:I hope this feedback is taken constructively. I recommend to please inspect beds more carefully, improve cleaning of high-touch surfaces, and consider offering goodwill gestures when such issues occur.Regrettably, I wouldn’t book again, but I hope improvements are made so future guests can enjoy a better experience.
