Exceptional

Now my 4th visit and...

Liked: It’s like ‘home from home’ and all the staff couldn’t be nicer!
Disliked: Nothing really!

A very comfortable & relaxing...

Liked: We liked the exccellent location on the harbour front and the bedroom had a sea view. The restaurant/breakfast room was very comfortable with views out to the harbour. The breakfast was excellent as were the meals we had at the restaurant.
Disliked: Some redecoration is necessary in the bedroom (windows & blinds in particular) but otherwise it was very comfortable. There is no central heating but free standing electrical radiators are provided. The hotel was 'closed' on the Tuesday which meant no breakfast was available on that day ( I am sure I was not informed of this at the point of booking). We were offered a packed lunch instead which worked well as we were on a walking break but the packed lunch did not match the standard of the other catering at the hotel.

Liked: The breakfast was amazing. If you love a full English, you will be more than satisfied. I also tried the vegetarian option one morning which was not bad either. The hotel is in a great location, near shops, across the road from the bus stop and nice sights in walking distance. The staff is friendly, it is quiet at night and has a great view from the window.I did a very short Vlog on Youtube just outside the accommodation Please feel free to watch it. Disliked: My room was clean when I arrived. However I spent 3 nights there. It would have been nice, if at some point the rubbish bin, was emptied and perhaps my room vacuumed etc. I'm still scoring it a 10 though, as I thought it was good value for money and enjoyed my stay.

Enjoyed the stay, would stay...

Liked: Dinner and breakast was very good value and well cooked, staff attentive and helpful with out being obsequious or over intrusive
Disliked: The table lamp didn't work and triped the lighting circuit to the room after it allowed us to connect the round pin plug between the live and earth pins, made us a little concerned about electrical safety.

Liked: Breakfast was a choice of cooked dishes, orange/apple juice, toast, tea/coffee. Gluten free toast was good. For children only cornflakes, then due to young child having asked for porridge on 1st few days, porridge was provided on later day.Location is beautiful, view of the harbour, bay, quiant area and historic castle.
Disliked: Easy access to warm shower but may need updating.

Not value for money. Wish...

Liked: The staff where friendly. The room itself was clean.
Disliked: We were greeted with the stench of second hand smoke. Found it hard to find someone to direct us to our room, noticed the kitchen area in the bar wasn't that clean but primarily our sleep was interrupted two nights. The first night by a wildly drunk individual in the room adjacent who had his tv blaring at 3a.m. right behind the wall our headboard was on. I knocked on his door and he turned it off 30 minutes later. The next night we were awake at 6a.m. when we hoped to sleep in for the same reason. Telling this to the staff made no difference and we were simply offered an apology. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast that came with the room b/c of the uncleanliness we saw and the stench of smoke we experienced. That turned us off. Guests should know that their is a pub right below the rooms and guests can be loud and roudy just outside.

Disliked: On arrival we could check in as nobody was there

Liked: The boss and the staff is really nice, they provide the best English breakfast in Jersey, and help me book a taxi when I am ready to leave!
