Exceptional

It was a good vacation....

Liked: Oceanfront. Friendly staff. Aesthetically pleasing.
Disliked: Amenities/toiletries were not filled up prior to our stay. We didn’t have enough body wash for 1 person for a week & there was 6 of us! No ice machine on each floor. Tested elevator during our stay & thought it was a fire alarm going off(early morning). Found garbage from previous guest between bed & pull out couch.

A lot to like but...

Liked: Right next to a beautiful part of the beach with easy access. Some things in walking distance or an easy drive. Decor is cute and beds reasonably comfortable. Rooms a good size. Nice sized balconies. Shay at the desk is really wonderful.
Disliked: The AC unit is LOUD. It kept the room cool enough, but it never stops running and the sound (sort of like an airplane cabin but 4 or 5 times louder) made it hard to sleep. Based on earlier reviews we took a table fan and kettle and both were very good to have. The outside lights are very bright and on all night. Even if you didn’t have an upstairs neighbor who literally moved furniture for an hour every night at midnight if you like a quiet darker room for sleeping this won’t work (and I say this as a white noise machine and nightlight sleeper). At the beach really I mostly expect the room to be a clean cool place to rest and sleep and the AC unit roar and lights made that hard. I didn’t get much sleep. Room was tidy but not very clean - sand and hair and bottle caps when we checked in, bathroom not very clean, and despite asking we couldn’t get housekeeping to service the room, but Shay did lend me a broom and got us more clean towels. The parking fee was over $22 a night. This is the first time at OC we have ever paid for hotel parking, and spaces were almost all taken with the hotel only about half full. Charge is automatically added per night so if there was not a space you pay anyways and I don’t know where else you could park? I like this part of the beach a lot, but with the parking the price is nearing the level of the really plush hotels on the boardwalk with free breakfasts and parking. Still, if the AC unit was quiet enough to let me sleep and the parking charge was gone we would stay again, but with those concerns I don’t think we will.

Liked: Everything. The location. The staff. The cleanliness. The convenience of so many places close by to do. We just are so glad we found this location. I will return and recommend to everyone.
Disliked: The only thing would be no daily house cleaning. You have to request it. That may be normal now a days. It was just different for us. But once we found out, we had to request it. It was not a problem at all. And we didn't need it every day. We just had to prepare for it cause we had a pet with us. So we sat one whole day in our room waiting for house cleaning, and they never showed up. So we wasted a whole day of beach time. Or going to get something to eat. But once we asked when they were going to be coming to our room. That was when we found out you have to request it. But it all worked out after that one day.

Everything was great except the...

Liked: I like how modern the room looked and the main room was very spacious.
Disliked: The Wi-Fi was terrible. The worse was at night. Could not check anything on my phone before bed.
