Liked: The location is great. The pool area is great for children of all ages and very clean. The gazebo/grilling area is nice. The options for anytime check in is great.
Disliked: The rooms are sort of updated but mostly outdated. The decor is not as important as the old carpeting it needs to go, wet carpet over all the years is very unsanitary. The drains and shower heads are filthy. I went here years ago with my children and it was so much more family oriented.They had bounce houses. On the pond they had kayaks and swan pedal boats. It was nice but not what I remember. It however, is not as bad as the reviews I read on line after I booked the stay.

Decent place to stay if...

Liked: The water slide is cool but the pools were as cold as the ocean water and the water slide was broken for half of the day on saturday
Disliked: Staff accused me and my guest of using the room next to us that was apparently left open and threatened to charge me extra with no proof. I have been staying at this hotel since i was 8 years old (about 15 stays in my lifetime) and they had 3 water slides a ferris wheel a train that kids could ride around the whole property and swan boats you could use on the pond as well as a petting zoo. Now only the big water slide normal pool and kids pool remain plus staff was very rude.

Overall, not great service and...

Liked: We were excited that there were, as described, three pools and a waterslide. While not the cleanest pools, and lacking in comfortable lounge chairs, there were technically three, and when it comes to Seabrook Inn, simply having the promised amount of something would be considered a win. Also, the motel was relatively close to fun destinations like Newburyport and Hampden Beach. Also listed on the website as being close by is Maybe Pond, a fun recreational nature reserve for families to swim, hike, and enjoy nature. Sounds nice, right? One problem. Maybe Pond is in Utah. And don’t expect an apology when the front desk clerk tells you this, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Disliked: Where to begin? From the unsanitary rooms to the broken facilities to the terrible service, the cons far outweigh the pros at Seabrook Inn. Upon arrival, we were told that our room wasn’t ready and were inexplicably denied access to the pool while we waited. We completely understood the room not being ready, but were surprised that we weren’t allowed in any capacity to sit by the pool when we would be checking in a mere hour. We were able to remedy the afternoon with a trip to Newburyport, but things only went downhill when we got our room key later on. Our first room was particularly nightmarish. The rug was covered in dark and concerning splotches, the tub and sink were full of grime that made our skin crawl, and an impenetrable feeling of dirtiness seemed to live on every available surface. We were prepared to accept our conditions until we turned on the air conditioner, which was buzzing loudly and had a piece hanging off of the top. The noise became so excruciating that we called the front desk. Someone came up to inspect the damage and claimed it was working, and only a part of it was broken. We explained we wouldn’t be able to sleep with the noise and he, being more understanding than our friend from the lobby, let us switch rooms. This was a huge upgrade, in that the rug had fewer spots, the air conditioner functioned correctly, and the idea of taking off our shoes felt a little more palatable.
