The Spotlight on Scott Creek Farm

Scenic B&B Escape Just Outside the City Buzz

Scott Creek Farm is a charming bed and breakfast nestled in peaceful Happy Valley, just 12 miles from downtown Portland's live music scene. With rustic touches, lush gardens, and river views, it’s a relaxing retreat that still keeps you close to the action. Whether you’re looking to recharge post-show or enjoy a cozy group getaway, this countryside hideaway offers the best of both worlds.

Why Concert-goers love it

This quiet stay is great for music fans who want to be near the Portland venues but far enough to unwind after a loud night. The scenic 12-mile drive to spots like the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry or the waterfront keeps you connected without sacrificing peace and quiet. Flexible 12:00 PM check-in means you can arrive early and settle in, while the 11:00 AM check-out gives you time to sleep off a late night. Free parking and WiFi make logistics easy, and the garden setting is perfect for a next-morning reset.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a laid-back, shared space with outdoor areas
  • Solo travelers on a music pilgrimage who want a safe and serene base
  • Couples seeking a romantic weekend with a concert highlight
  • Fans wanting tranquility after loud venues and late nights
  • Budget-conscious travelers who don’t mind a short drive for a better price and more comfort

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, several rooms feature a fully equipped kitchenette—perfect for late-night snacks or a slow morning brunch. Plus, the barbecue and picnic area make it easy to prep your own meals. You’ll find a few local eateries within a short drive, and Portland’s famous food scene is just 20 minutes away.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find live music on-site, but you’re only a short drive from downtown’s vibrant nightlife—think cozy lounges, craft beer bars, and concert venues. Head back to the farm for a quiet wind-down under the stars or a game of darts on the patio.

What People Say

Guests love the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful gardens, and friendly hosts. The property gets high marks for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and scenic surroundings. Many reviewers mention it's the perfect place to unwind after a busy day in Portland.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t the spot if you want to walk to bars or grab late-night takeout steps from your room. Some guests mention that a rental car is a must, and mobile reception can be spotty due to the rural setting—but hey, that’s part of the charm.

The Bottom Line

If you're headed to Portland for a concert but want a peaceful, affordable place to recover, Scott Creek Farm hits all the right notes.

Wonderful - 4.5 out of 5

David Mon, 28 April 2025

Charming, quiet, and comfortable.

Liked: Quirky decor, a large bathroom, a comfy bed, and a nearby creek made this a really wonderful place to stay.
Disliked: The one drawback for us was that my spouse was too hot at night and couldn't sleep. Eventually she figured out that if she opened the hallway door that connected the bedroom with the bathroom, the room cooled down. If we had stayed more than one night, it would not have been such an issue. Outside of that one thing we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent experience during an emergency....

Liked: We had asked for privacy due to this being an emergency. They provided food for breakfasts and snacks and left us alone. The only time we saw them they just were encouraging. I would highly recommend
Disliked: Nothing!

More than met our needs...

Liked: Loved the location on the creek, the accessibility to our friends and family in nearby neighborhood, having a kitchenette and comfortable bed, separate entrance to accomodations. Didn't spend much time there as were visiting friends and family.

Very comfortable and quiet.

Liked: The hosts were very friendly. They also had practically anything you could need if you forgot anything. Shampoo, toothpaste, cotton swabs, there was a water bowl and water if you bring a dog, there was a safety gate on the deck for small dogs and children, plenty of towels, coffee, continental breakfast. I was very pleased.
Disliked: Couldn't turn the TV on, but that was probably just my inability to figure out the remote.
