Less than 10 minutes' drive from Wootton Bassett the Schoolhouse Restaurant and Hotel offers fine food and accommodations in the Wiltshire countryside. Formerly a Victorian school this characterful hotel near the Cotswolds borders provides free Wi-Fi and parking. Would definitely stay again amd...

Liked: A lovely hotel, with attentive and welcoming staff. The building is gorgeous and the decor is in keeping with the age which is nice. Breakfast was very good and set me up well for the day ahead. It was within walking distance to Royal Wooton Basset, which was really handy too. And had supermarkets, petrol stations, and restaurants close by too. The actual location of the hotel was very quiet at night, so I slept well.

Not comfortable and not good...

Liked: Location
Disliked: The rooms are bland and not very welcoming, the bed needs replacing, not comfortable. Arrive after 21.00 and you can no longer check in! Breakfast served in the entrance hall not the restaurant. Food crammed on to a small plate and not great quality.

Liked: It's got character and it's clean. Karen your host is lovely
Disliked: The room smelt of damp, there was evidence of damp on the walls the paint was coming away. Didn't like the idea of eating in the foyer and not having chosen your own breakfast / buffet. Also if you wanted cereal it would have charged at £5!!!!!!!.

Disliked: Not much - single room a bit narrow & a shower curtain, otherwise all good
