Not a happy stay.

Liked: Great location, right in the old town and an easy walk to the station and all sights and restaurants. The check-in lady (I think Britney) was delightful. A comfy bed and good bathroom facilities.
Disliked: We booked a Junior Suite and, based on the photos, expected a bedroom with separate sitting area including a sofa and two armchairs. What we got was a very small room with no sofa and two chairs that were basically only good to hang clothes on! There were very low beams that could easily have caused a nasty injury during the night. The room was so hot with no fan or cooling, meaning we had to sleep with the windows open - or actually NOT sleep at all due to the noise from the traffic, people shouting and the clock chiming right outside EVERY 15 MINUTES!! We were on the 5th floor, the highest level away from the road too. The breakfast was not a good spread. We expected Zurich to be expensive but this in no way met our expectations for the price we paid. All in all, I would not be able to recommend a stay here.

Liked: very friendly young lady at the reception! the room is clean and spacious. also impressed by the multiple power points that fits UK, EU plugs! and there is a USB charging port on the wall next to the power points too! nice hotel
Disliked: Room is warm... no A/C because of the environmental friendly ventilation system in the building. I will still come back to the hotel though!

Not as we had hoped

Liked: We arrived an hour before check in time but we were told we could have our room early which was nice.The location was good for us in the older part of the city, between Zurich train station and the boat quay. It took us only 8 minutes to walk from the train station to the hotel with our cases. Easy to walk from the hotel around that part of the city, or numerous tram stops if going further afield which we also did.Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area to suit all tastes.Continental breakfast was fairly basic but adequate and a lovely lady was there each morning to cook eggs in any way you choose.
Disliked: When we checked in we were told our room had been upgraded so felt very happy and excited going upstairs but when we opened the door it felt very dark and a bit depressing. It certainly didn't look much like the pictures. Maybe it was a shock as we just had come from a week in another area in Switzerland where the hotel and hotel bedroom there was much fresher and brighter ? But we stayed with the room as we'd had a very busy week and were exhausted but didn't feel it was our taste at all.The room was clean but we were put off by the beige coloured bed linen and towels which looked as if they had seen much better days. As we checked out there seemed no interest in our custom, no thankyou or smile.The hotel served its purpose for us as a base for the last 3 nights of our holiday but we felt it lacked any kind of welcoming atmosphere, definitely not for us and feel we could have had a better experience elsewhere for same cost.
