Expected more. Disappointing

Liked: The location was excellent. Walking distance to attractions, restaurants, lake, transit and other neighborhoods. The one gentleman who serviced us at the front desk was very pleasant was able to move us to another room because we found the 1st room to be unacceptable because of bad smell, The housekeeping staff was excellent and very accommodating.
Disliked: Booked for a 4 night stay. We arrived a few hours early and instead of welcoming us to Copenhagen and the Scandic hotel. The very 1st comment we received from the 1st reception staff was a request for $50.00 Krone if we wanted a early check in. When finally did check into our room we asked to be moved because of the bad smell in the room. Once in the room we realized there was no room phone so no way to contact the front desk or in case of emergency or have anyone contact us. This is a large hotel and we had to go down to the reception desk to talk to any hotel staff. We had 3 of us in the room so the extra bed was a sofa bed. The sofa bed was of the poorest quality. Very old, thin mattress and slopping in the middle with a very noisy spring and metal frame. We had to request extra pillows. The quality of the pillows and bedding was terrible. Very poor quality. The room came with no tissue paper so we had to ask the front desk for toilet paper or they told us to go and buy our own tissue paper. There is also no fridge in the room. This is not an inexpensive hotel and does not even come close to providing the bare minimum of standards.Used the gym it had broken spin bike and equipment is old.

Liked: Breakfast was great. The location was good. Front desk staff were welcoming.
Disliked: One dissatisfaction was related to the fact that, upon inquiry from your front desk about whether or not we wanted room cleaned, I responded "yes". However, the room was never cleaned. I even inquired of a housekeeping staff who gave me an indication that it would be cleaned and it never was. Additionally, the quality of the towels was very disappointing. They were very thin and I expected more when paying more than $300 per night. The addition of wash cloths also would have been nice.

Scenic Scandic

Liked: Plentiful, varied breakfast with options for the whole family. Very comfortable bed with an amazing view. Staff were fantastic, always ready to help and provided tips on the use of a PlayStation in the kidszone in the soft play area. Exclusive use of a lift for the 18th floor made us feel quite special. Major plus from us for the waffle maker too - ingenious!
Disliked: Our door didn't tend to close properly, without needing to be quite firm with it. The coffee and tea making facilities in the room were very lacking. Creamer powder which is very very old fashioned. The selection was quite poor too. Surprising from a country that has an amazing dairy industry. Mini fridge wouldn't go amiss also. Shower also needed servicing - shower head was spitting all over the place.

Yum breakfast

Liked: Great breakfast (lots of choice) and pleasant staff. Within walking distance of central train station.
Disliked: Room was very small - a single would have been a more correct description, rather than a double (one bedside lamp, one bedside plug etc). Seemed very expensive for size of room.
