Liked: A lovely hotel in a beautiful village. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We dined in the restaurant on the Friday and Sunday night of our stay and the food on the Friday was from the normal menu. Fabulous food beautifully presented. The Sunday was a roast meal with the biggest Yorkshire pudding - though other choices were available. each room is individually designed - we stayed in Camelot. Lots of history in the hotel including a 100ft well in reception. Lots of beams and character. They we also doing a pizza night on the Friday in the courtyard- when it started to rain a little they has covers to protect the diners.
Disliked: Shame the view of the beautiful Amber Valley is now partially blocked by growing trees.

Lovely farm style hotel in...

Liked: Lovely country accommodation a few miles outside of Higham, Derbyshire. Beautiful views of the countryside from the hotel grounds. Bar and restaurant on premises. Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to friends and would return again if every in the area.

Disliked: Beds were a little too firm for my liking and could have done with a mattress topper. Air conditioner would have helped too or a fan
