A nice stay for one...

Liked: I went to this hotel with no expectations, so was pleasantly surprised. The family room was large with all the little extras one would like e.g. tea and coffee-making facilities and small toiletries for showering. The breakfast was also decent, with a continental buffet breakfast and a hot, cooked breakfast all included. Staff were generally very friendly and it was nice to be given help carrying bags to our room and explained how things work e.g. breakfast timings, wifi details (I've noticed a lot of hotels don't do any of this anymore). I'd consider staying again.
Disliked: The sofa bed for the kids was a little worn and stained(!), with a very saggy mattress. My four year old actually said it wasn't comfortable and ended up in the big bed with me!The hotel is a little tired in places e.g. walls in the room need a fresh lick of paint and the pillow cases had some stains on them.There could be a little more attention to detail: the fruit salad served at breakfast had slimy, gone-off watermelon in it; I asked for a breakfast tea and was given a decaf (thought it was just a weak brand of tea until I noticed towards the end of finishing it that the label said decaf); it would have been nice to be asked at check-out if we'd had a nice stay and everything had been okay.Generally a good stay but it was quite pricey for what we got. We've stayed in other hotels in the area that have pools and gyms but cost less.

Great potential but needs some...

Liked: Location was quiet and picturesque. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and breakfast was very good.
Disliked: Unfortunately we did not sleep well. The room was either too hot or too cold and the air conditioning could not be regulated from in the room. Also we found the bed uncomfortable and could feel the springs in the mattress. The decor was also a little tired.
