Comfort and Convenience Near Glasgow's Music Scene

Modern comfort meets classic hospitality at the Sandyford Hotel, a welcoming, family-run spot located in Glasgow’s vibrant West End. Just a 10-minute walk from the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and close to many of the city's top music venues, this hotel offers a stylish yet affordable base for your concert-filled getaway.

Rooms are bright and contemporary, each with a private bathroom, free 24-hour Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee facilities. The 24-hour reception makes it easy for late arrivals or post-concert check-ins, while the daily full Scottish breakfast is perfect after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and the Sandyford delivers — you’re just minutes from Glasgow’s major venues. After the encore, walk back without hassle or worry about transport. Thanks to its quieter West End setting, you’ll get a peaceful night’s sleep despite being close to the action. The flexible 13:30 check-in is great if you’re arriving early for a day of music and exploring, and with late-night bus stops nearby, getting around after shows is easy.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly base near venues
  • Solo travelers chasing that bucket-list gig
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans seeking a quieter space to recharge post-concert
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want comfort

Food and Drink Options

Start your day right with a hearty full Scottish breakfast including bacon, sausage, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, and more — or opt for lighter choices like yogurt, croissants, and juice. While the hotel doesn’t offer late-night dining or room service, you’re just a short walk from plenty of West End eateries, ideal for grabbing a bite before or after a show.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself keeps things quiet, you’re steps from Sauchiehall Street’s buzzing nightlife. Whether you’re after a local pub, live music bar, or a relaxed lounge for a nightcap, it’s all nearby. Perfect for extending the night out without straying far.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent location for events and exploring the city. Many love the value for money and the generous breakfast. Solo and repeat travelers highlight the welcoming vibe that makes them feel at home.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can be compact, and the hotel’s older building means there’s no lift — something to keep in mind if you have heavy bags. Some guests mention the decor is more functional than flashy, but most agree it’s great value.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Glasgow for a concert and want an affordable, comfortable stay within walking distance of the action, the Sandyford Hotel is a reliable pick with a friendly local touch.

Sandyford Hotel. Will be back next time we visit Glasgow. This was our first time at the Sandyford but it won't be our last.

Perfect work / stopover hotel

Liked: Still my favourite hotel in Glasgow! Does exactly what it says on the tin. Surrounded by the best restaurants, great freshly cooked breakfast. Always treated well here!
Disliked: Nothing. As a business stop over hotel, this place is perfect.

FRIENDLY STAFF GREAT LOCATION

Liked: Friendly staff very helpful, breakfast was amazing as usual as have stayed here in past a few times.Asked if we wanted room serviced which was nice ,we didn't but fresh towels supplied upon request. Staff in breakfast room were all lovely and helpful breakfast is so good they have everything you could want .The foyer is lovely and comfortable to await taxis etc ,lots of nice pubs restaurants in walking distance .Around £6 for taxi to Queen Street station . We used Glasgocabs app no issues with transport .
Disliked: Room was huge nice curtains would make it more appealing ,prefer blackout curtains in a hotel .Attention to small details like waste bin in shower room rusty and broken would cost about £5 to replace . None of this affected our stay though.Considering was weekend road outside was very quiet in morning.

Pleasant, friendly hotel with really...

Liked: The breakfast was amazing. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes walk to the OVO arena where we had a concert. My only drawback on the hotel was our bedroom was at the top of the hotel and there was no lift. As we are both pensioners, we struggled with the stairs.
Disliked: Either a lift or if we were given a room on ground or first floor.

Reasonable price for the location...

Liked: It was close to the main attractions and to the SEC.It was clean, there were towels, hair dryer and iron in the room.
Disliked: in the first days there was an unpleasant smell in the room (either from the previous clients or from the cleaning solutions) which resolved after 3-4 days; It was an old building, but nicely restored; There was no elevator or other mecanism to get the luggage on the upper floor.

An alright stay but missing...

Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was great for what I was in the city for. Room was in good condition.
Disliked: Shampoo/body wash dispenser in shower was empty.Hotel room was very hot due to heatwave with no air conditioning or a fan. The only option for fresh or cool air was to open a window but this was across from an apartment block and positioned in line with the top of my bed so felt a bit hesitant about opening it as I didn't want others watching me sleep or change.Didn't love the style of the hotel as it felt a bit old but of course this is just personal preference
