Sands Harbor Resort and Marina

Overall, I enjoyed my stay...

Liked: I liked the location of the resort and the ease of parking. The lobby and pool area are maintained and very nice. The balcony/room views are spectacular.
Disliked: The room is in need of updating. The furniture updates are very nice in the room. Specifically, the walls and doors looked as if they had been repainted too times. The blinds didn’t completely close(they let too much outside light through) and one blind broke off and fell down when we closed them.

Liked: First room cold water didn’t work. They upgraded me to a Premier room, which was no different other than a little bit better furniture. The slider door to the balcony did not work and there was zero water pressure in this bathroom. Then, by the pool they were people having sex in the pool Several employees walked by witnessing it and didn’t do anything then the couple that was in the pool, took it to the pool lounger, and it was like a complete porno. You have to pay $25 for parking which they don’t tell you when you book and that includes mandatory valet parking so I paid $25 but when I left in the morning there’s no valet parking so I had to walk to the other side of the building in the dark to go pick up my car after already paying $25 for valet parking go figure

Never again! Staff need training!

Disliked: The staff! I was made to feel unwelcome. The valet man was rude and more like a bouncer at a night club. He had an attitude problem. The place is run like a military place. When I checked out I mentioned I was not happy to a new person at the desk but instead of saying they were sad to hear that they just were rude about it! They all need to learn how to run a hotel! I have done 30 states of America on a Harley and stayed at hundreds of hotels and never complain about staff before but I never met such rude abrupt staff like the ones at this hotel. The velet man, the to first met was the worst ever! I decided not to have any of the free breakfast or spend time or money with them and went out for everything.

We like staying at Sands...

Liked: This is our 2nd stay at this property. It is close to our grown children. Room has a great view of the inter-coastal waters. We love watching the boats motor up and down the waterway.
Disliked: The room was fairly clean however the grout in the shower back wall has some mold. (I don't like grout cause it is so hard to keep clean.) Also, our king bed was nice and clean but a little hard for me. The AC unit is necessary but rather loud at night.
