Liked: Service in hotel was very good; all the staff were very helpful.
Disliked: The heating in our room wasn't working. But when we informed the staff they quickly sorted it for us.

Good hotel

Liked: Great position,close to few metro stations,city center,Quayside with Tyne river and bridges to Gateshead.If you love to walk that’s right hotel to be.Also if supporting any football team on away match or NUFC at home the St.James Park Stadium is first thing you’ll see when leaving the hotel.Breakfast more than solid.
Disliked: We had some issues in our room but hotel staff showed a will to solve the problem immediately.And they did it!However there was no toillet brush for shell cleaning and since we had a suite with kitchenette there was no table for dining.We had to improvise!

Solo traveler

Liked: Friendly and professional welcome at reception.
Disliked: Id like a tray at breakfast, when a solo traveler has to make several trips to ones table I concern about leaving belongings as no one is to watch them etc. with a tray I can take everything at once or at least cut down on the trips to the buffet...it's a minor gripe, otherwise a flawless selection and fantastic staff on hand to help at a moments notice... several guests were even helped with bringing food and drink, a sign of a caring, compassionate catering team.

An Excellent Weekend in Sandman...

Liked: The location is superb, being a Newcastle United fan it was excellent to be situated right across from St James Park. Everything you could need or want to see centrally in Newcastle is within walking distance from the hotel.
Disliked: We loved being so close to St James Park but not so much when it came to the St James Stack.Don't get me wrong, it's a hell of a venue but it did get a bit loud at times. There was no real drama, closing the window helped with the noise but the weekend we stayed was particularly warm so the downside was that our room got a bit stuffy.All this aside, we can't wait to stay again.
