Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel

First off I booked it through ConcertHotels and it said $69 plus taxes. Came out to $77.92. I showed my girlfriend and booked it. The price was right there on the screen while I put in the credit card info. When we arrived they told me it was 100 bucks. Then parking was 25 bucks. Although they never told me that until morning. It was dirty. Disgusting towels and garbage on the floor. I had to check the mattress for bed bugs. I have pictures but most likely can't put them up. Oh and it was under construction and had no hot water until 5 pm. Also pool and hot tub were unavailable. So nothing worked, it was gross and I was overcharged. I will be staying at the Delta from now on - same price and they treat you great. It's clean and parking is cheaper.

Liked: The only good thing that was good is that we were close to venue.
Disliked: Rip off; disgusting, cheap hotel.

Liked: It was at a very accessible location, train station was just down the street. Amazing customer service! Fast check in and check out:) would definitely stay here again. Food places and groceries nearby as well

Disliked: Waited half an hour just to check in, even though there were only 3 people ahead of me. It was a Saturday, so I didn't think too much of it. The AC in the room was terrible, barely a breeze even though it was on the highest setting, and not cold air at all. Unfortunately, i did not realize this until around midnight when I was trying to sleep. Couldn't stay asleep because it was so uncomfortable in the room. Ended up leaving b4 8am. Reception said they would comp my parking (woo $6) after bringing the inoperable ac to their attention. The Monday after, I noticed multiple charges on my card from the sandman. I called and spoke to the manager who told me it's due to smoking in the room, which we did not. He said he would look into it but did not give me much hope it the matter and basically told me there's nothing i can do about this false accusation. I called and left a message with the General manager the next day, the manager called me back 20 min later saying they had picture evidence of smoking damage, im still waiting on a copy of that and cleaning costs to be sent to me. I am not letting this go. I work hard for my money. And here's the thing, i treat myself once a year by coming to calgary and getting tickets for a show. I could not afford to stay two nights so I got the one. I already have a problem paying over 300 for a 1 night stay, but like I said it's a treat for myself. The fact that they are now forcing me to pay $250 on top of that for something I didn't do?? NO! I'm calling it for what it is complete theft.
