Modern comfort meets Southwestern charm at Sandia Peak Inn a Howard Johnson by Wyndham, located right off historic Route 66. This budget-friendly motel offers cozy, well-equipped rooms and a warm welcome just a short drive from downtown Albuquerque and top concert venues. With a year-round indoor pool, free WiFi, and free continental breakfast, it's a solid choice for travelers looking for value and convenience.

Why Concert-goers love it

Music fans appreciate the motel’s easy highway access and its 15-minute drive to Albuquerque International Airport, making late-night arrivals and early departures stress-free. It’s also close to local venues while being tucked far enough away for a quiet night’s sleep after the encore. With free parking and a 24-hour front desk, you won’t have to worry if your show runs late.

Nightlife Options

Very good

Liked: It was pleasant. The road in front is rather noisy, but what can you do. Overall a good value. Room was clean and comfortable but a bit dated. Parking is a bit tight.

Not recommended, needs upgrading

Liked: Location, quiet, comfortable bed, clean room
Disliked: Bed’s base is metal and noisy to any touch. Found hand and face dirty set of towels, reported to front desk and were switched. TV turns on by switch on the wall, no instructions, needed to ask front desk after trying remote several times. Condiments, jellies, oatmeal, honey not individually wraps, sharing from big containers which causes concern for contamination. The shower has warm-hot to boiling water, not able to adjust it to warm-cold settings, to hot for me. The toilet seat is plastic and moves when seated.

If you like dirty, and...

Liked: I booked into this hotel because I have a service dog and it said it was very close to a park. Which I took her to and it was lovely
Disliked: When traveling with the service dog you expect to find ants around your pets water bowl. And occasionally I'll stay at a place that has a cockroach but not often. This hotel not only had ants and cockroaches, but I was surprised when I woke up to flying termites in the room. Taking a shower with flying termites and trying to dry off was quite the challenge!! As a single woman traveling with a service dog, I did not feel safe and slept with a gun on the nightstand already cockedI don't know why they advertise breakfast, it's not even worth the walk over there, trust me. Just go grab yourself a burrito or something else, but don't waste your time going down to what they consider their breakfast buffetI had to walk the dog around the grounds, there are broken chairs, trash everywhere, and the Man in the room next to me (110 who I believe is a permanent resident in the hotel) would go outside and smoke in front of his door. So the smell of cigarettes permeated my room. He would also go into his car and smoke weed, which would also permeate into my room. Not a lovely place.
