The Spotlight on San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf

Comfy Convenience by the Wharf

Modern comfort meets classic San Francisco charm at the San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf. Just a short stroll from the waterfront and iconic spots like Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square, this pet-friendly hotel blends a relaxed vibe with all the essentials concert-goers need. With rooms featuring mini-fridges, coffee makers, and cable TV, plus a gym and business center on-site, it’s a practical and inviting base for your music-fueled getaway.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key, and this hotel delivers. You’re less than 15 minutes’ walk from top attractions and a short ride from major San Francisco music venues. After the show, enjoy a peaceful night’s rest — the area stays fairly quiet in the evenings, especially compared to downtown. Flexible check-in from 4:00 PM and a generous 12:00 PM checkout lets you sleep in after a late night. Public transport and ride-shares are easily accessible, making it simple to get to and from your event.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central, walkable location
  • Solo travelers coming to see their favorite artist
  • Couples making a weekend trip out of the concert
  • Fans who want a quieter post-show retreat
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who value location and comfort

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no full-service restaurant on-site, the hotel offers free coffee in the lobby each morning to help you bounce back after a late concert. You’ll find plenty of walkable dining spots in nearby Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf, many open late. Room amenities like a fridge and coffee maker let you keep snacks and caffeine close at hand.

Nightlife Options

You're in one of San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods, so nightlife is never far. Enjoy casual bars and pubs just steps away or venture out to local lounges and clubs in North Beach. While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music or have a bar, the surrounding area more than delivers.

What People Say

Guests love the clean, comfortable rooms and praise the hotel’s proximity to top attractions. Many mention how easy it is to get around the city from this location, and that it’s a great value considering the prime spot. The staff earns high marks for being friendly and helpful.

Areas for Improvement

Some travelers note that the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, and while the décor isn’t ultra-modern, it’s clean and functional. Others mention that there’s no on-site restaurant or bar, but with so many nearby options, it’s rarely a deal-breaker.

The Bottom Line

The San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf is a solid, well-located pick for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and a quiet place to recharge after the show.

Would not stay here again

Liked: Good location close to fisherman’s wharf and some key attractions- Golden Gate Bridge, street trolleys (trams), fisherman’s wharf.
Disliked: Staff were horrendous. Didn’t care at all about the (paying) customer. Service at breakfast was awful. Total rip off. $9 (plus tax) for a measly bagel; $14 (plus tax) for yoghurt waiter poured coffee and didn’t say you had to pay for it. Then said it’s $6 (plus tax) and tasted like crap! There’s a Starbucks on the next corner where you can get a proper coffee for $4 or across the road at Eight Am. Didn’t even tell us about the free bike hire. Not a mention at all which annoyed me as I bought separate bike hire

Comfortable hotel near Fishermans wharf...

Liked: The room was a great size with tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom had all we needed. Breakfast was filling, with a fine selection of cooked breakfast, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries. The coffee and juices were delicious.

A very dissapointing stay with...

Disliked: Next to no washing towels , only two large washing towels and we were three guests. No luggage room, the lady at the lobby told us to go to the hotel across the street and pay 5$ per luggage to store them. This is not the quality of service you anticipate when you go to a marriott hotel and not in accordance with the price you pay.
