Great place for a mini...
Liked: Comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay, well designed units, backs onto marina. Restaurant on premises, and another down street. Easy parking, free, across street. 15 minutes to outstanding state park. Ilwaco has interesting book store, yarn store, vibrant Sat. Mkt , huge antique store, galleries, and very interesting history museum. Small place but fun! 1/2 hr to Astoria with vibrant Sun. Mkt and plenty of places to see and eat. Trip up the Long Beach Peninsula makes for a great mini-vacation. Local bus avail in front of hotel!
Disliked: Nothing! It would be nice to have a functioning bakery in operation again or a place to have some breakfast foods right next to hotel though

SALT, a PNW diamond in...
Liked: Not to sound like a Dos Equis beer ad, but I don't usually (in fact, hardly ever) give 5 stars all around for any business but when I do, it's because that business exceeded my expectations and then some. From the convenient online registration and check-in process to the welcoming pre-arrival communication and Q&A with the staff, I already experienced a level of service rarely provided by 5 star, $$$$ hotels.Upon arrival, I was immediately pleased by the unique decor, thoughtful touches and cleanliness both in and outside the property. Suffice to say, I had one of the most comfortable and relaxing stays in all of the places I've visited in the PNW.The accommodations (including an awesome dry sauna, FREE with advance reservation) alone earn the SALT 4.9 stars in my book, but what really makes this hotel a 5-star gem is the incredible hospitality and hotelier mentality of the staff. All of my communication was via DM texts, but the prompt, informative and personalized responses I received each and every time felt like I had my own dedicated concierge, which is why I stated SALT exceeded my expectations and then some.I'm so glad to have discovered this diamond in the rough (I say "rough" only because the charming town of Ilwaco is overshadowed by its more famous neighbors Long Beach, WA and Astoria, OR) and I'm proud to say the SALT will be my go-to spot whenever I feel the need to get out to coastal WA or OR.Can't wait to book my next reservation!
Disliked: That this hotel is a 3+ hour drive away from the Seattle metro area, but it's worth it!

Not a comfortable place to...
Liked: Location. Staff
Disliked: The bed felt like you were sleeping on cement. The shower head was so high that unless you wanted to wash your hair you couldn’t get a good shower. No comfortable place to sit. We won’t stay there again. Would not recommend.

Beautiful place to stay but...
Liked: Great location, spectacular beauty, quiet on weekdays (before summer crowds). Comfortable bed, nice linens, clean. Real glasses, cups and spoons! Sweet complimentary locally made soap samples.
Disliked: Our room was not designed for comfort (except in comfy bed). Very cramped, furniture bulky, practically useless. One petite, sturdy, but hard chair; and a trendy?!? armchair with the shortest legs ever seen, at most 8" from floor to seat?!? For adults? And just as odd, we are to enjoy the amenity of a shower "pod" or "tube" too small to move more than 3" in any direction. Just forget about retrieving anything dropped. For adults? Not these oldsters. Guess it's time for "accessible" accommodations, like it or not. We wanted to love it, but....
