Liked: Perfectly appointed close to university and only 10-15 from central Edinburgh. Clean, cosy with all the modern conveniences.

Liked: Very clean and a lovely breakfast
Disliked: Staff not attentive distracted by one another when booking in. Rang reception to ask for another blanket as we were cold. Reception answered then again got distracted so I gave in and wore our jumpers in bed to keep warm. Before the visit we were asked by the hotel to inform them if our visit was for a special occasion and if it was to email them direct on a link email and they would make sure that our stay would be extra special and memorable. The hotel asked this I replied and NOTHING special occurred so it left us disappointed don’t ask if you don’t mean it; it just spoilt the expectation you built up. On leaving I paid my bill for our breakfast extra and the reception just complained about how busy they’d been yawned and said I don’t know how to take a payment with cash so you’ll have to use your card. Maybe training needed for staff on customer service and don’t offer what you can’t do!

Comfortable, peaceful and friendly staff

Liked: Huge room with extremely comfortable beds. Surprisingly peaceful given thats its on a student campus. Friendly staff and easy to get in and out of town by bus.
Disliked: A slightly more central location would have been good but that would have pushed the cost up significantly I expect.
