An extremely disappointing experience which...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent both days. The bathroom facilities were very good.
Disliked: Room was 'pokey' very little room to move. The wardrobe facilities were no where near enough to take the amount of clothes an elderly couple needs for a stay at this hotel. The bed was ridiculous, if one needed the toilet at night, one had to climb over one's partner to go to the toilet. For two people to do this at 83 years old and 76 years old was extremely difficult. This would mean waking one's partner. There was no chair to sit on in the room. Receptionist went and located one for our use. When a member of staff was told, she said there was no other room to which we could move. My wife and I were not totally convinced. If we had known the room was like it was we would not have booked the room. I will not book another room using Booking.com.Having stayed at this hotel twice before and been highly satisfied we were very disappointed this time and will possibly not stay here again.

Liked: A beautiful old pub, perfectly located in Hertford’s old town. Staff are friendly, rooms well turned out . Have stayed before and, obviously, have returned.
Disliked: Our room this time was a little cramped. Too much in too little space though the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom.Breakfast creakingly slow with a single waitress run ragged.
