My experience wasn't the worst...

Liked: I loved the location and the rooms were super cute. It is within walking distance of so many restaurants and the historic district. The rooms were clean. We did have an issue where I had to switch rooms. The staff was very accomodating to our request to switch rooms. Housekeeping staff was very good.
Disliked: When we were initially assigned a room, the rooms air conditioner was not working. They had a portable AC for the room. It was bulky and LOUD. My autistic child had to wear his headphones in the room at times because he has noise sensitivies. Every time that AC kicked on it woke me up, so it seemed like I slept in 15 minute increments all night long. 3/4 of us slept horrible that night. My youngest can sleep through anything so she wasn't bothered. In the morning, we switched rooms and the staff was very accomodating to our request. But seriously, just take that room out of commision till the AC can get fixed. The rooms are smallish so space is also important. Also, the rooms do not have a microwave or fridge. I usually have to pack my son's breakfasts and make them in the hotel room since he also has Arfid. We were told we could pay more to have an upgraded room with a fridge and microwave. I have been in other places that went above and beyond to provide a microwave when asked. So, i wasnt impressed by that. The other thing I didnt care for was the restaurant. We waited an hour for food..when you're on vacation, an hour is a lot of time. The staff was very apologetic and didnt charge us for our drinks. I don't know if it was a short staffing issue or they were just unusually busy that day. .Despite my not so great personal experiences with certain issues, I loved the location and the walkability of it. I stayed for 3 days at this hotel and used it as a home base for exploring boston on my vacation. I would personally not stay here again as a family unit, since I just didnt feel it was inclusive enough for special needs child. But I would if it were just me and my partner.

Beautiful, nautical themed hotel in...

Liked: Great location, clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Walkable to many attractions in Salem.
Disliked: A little pricey, but worth it.
