Needs serious improvements and not...
Liked: The bed was comfortable and the room was fairly large.
Disliked: Not sure how this place gets a 9 rating. We had a bunch of issues. First of all, the lobby smelled so strongly of curry it was distracting. Mind you, I love curry but this was just too strong.Most of the lights in the room were bright white LEDs instead of soft white. Cold and depressing. And, no privacy curtain behind the blackout curtains, so opening the curtains was pointless.There was a good amount of black mold around the bathroom sink and the shower. Doesn't take much to bleach that! The shower had no body wash and the bath mat was frayed and stained. They couldn't get us anything until the next day! The comfort was so thin that it was uncomfortable to sleep. Requested two more for the next day.Parking was horrible. The spots are so small that we were concerned about our rental car getting damaged. They require you to back in to some of the spots.The place just looks run down both inside and outside. No pride in their high rating.

Conveniently located, clean, quiet, and...
Liked: We were visiting family in the area and the Sakura was very convenient and close to them nearby. For the most part a quiet neighborhood and overall a clean room. The room was also well equipped with all the necessities and looked newly remodeled. It came equipped with a hot water kettle, however no coffee/ tea service available which would of been nice.
Disliked: The room was mostly clean, however there was some grit on the floor that got on our bare feet so not sure what it was as the room looked clean? On check in we arrived @ 10 minutes after 11 pm and all was closed, the gate and street door were shut & locked. We made several calls to the property # only to get an answering service. We then texted the property and did get a response to let us know someone would be there shortly to check us in, however it took about 10 minutes waiting on the street late at night until we were finally able to get in and check in. We had texted earlier that evening about 9:30 pm that we would be arriving late between 11 & 11:30 pm and did receive a text back that there would be no problem to check in at that time. It all worked out but for a few minutes it was a little disconcerting.

Liked: This was a great place to stay in Glendale. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and comfortable. It was very clean. The room had a refrigerator, wine bottle opener, iron, kettle, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The bathroom had a nice, big bathtub, and the water pressure was really good. There was protected parking with a gate that closed from 11pm-7am. You can enter the gate with your room key, if needed. There is an elevator for people staying on the 2nd or 3rd floors. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!
Disliked: There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Disliked: This hotel charged me twice—absolutely unacceptable!I had already paid when I made the reservation. But when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk insisted they hadn’t received my payment. They even called their manager, who also claimed I hadn’t paid. I had to show them my credit card transaction history, and only then did they admit it was their mistake. I spent almost an hour dealing with this mess!I thought the issue was resolved, but when I got home, I found out they charged my credit card again on the check-in day! I’ve contacted them multiple times asking them to fix it, but they never replied. This feels like a scam.The matter is still unresolved. I filed a complaint with Booking.com, but even after Booking reached out to them, there has been no response.Everyone, be careful! It seems like the hotel may have changed management recently, and it’s no longer what it used to be. All the good reviews might not reflect the current situation.
