My son, who is 20 years old, wanted to treat his sister to her 1st music gig - she was turning 17 on the Saturday! So we decided to book accommodation knowing they’d all be together! It states on your website that someone in the group needs to be over 18, so couldn’t understand why it was an issue for my daughter and her cousin to be allowed to stay, as my son is 20 and his girlfriend is 18? They missed over an hour of the music gig - just really ruined it for them. I booked safe stay cause I’d seen good reviews but sadly won’t use again was very upsetting for all especially me as I was 2hrs away at home and was worried enough at them going then was getting told my daughter and cousin couldn’t stay - staff were very rude!

Liked: Kids said building is lovely and clean.
Disliked: The way my teenage children were treated on arrival.

Liked: Very clean and tidy; lovely rooms and very nice breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: No bar.

When we arrived at 4pm (check in was 2pm) we were told that our room wasn't ready. On calling housekeeping, we were then told that it was ready. The receptionist, we found, was quite patronising and not very friendly. When we got to our room, we realised we had a disabled bathroom which obviously wasn't suitable for us and not what we had booked. The bathroom was just a walk in shower and didn't even have a bath. The sink and facilities were obviously lowered for a disabled person but this was inconvenient for us. The radiatior didn't work and the room was freezing when we got there. We had asked for a DVD player which turned out to be a PS2 which kept skipping. The "double room" was actually just two separate single beds joined together which we weren't happy with as this is not what we asked for. We ordered drinks to our room and on arrival, the member of staff missed a drink off our order so had to go back and correct it. Overall, we weren't impressed with our stay and definitely wouldn't stay here again. Just generally disappointed as Best Western are a well known company and I never expected this from them.

Disliked: 1. No heater was put on.2. Breakfast is by 8am, and I do go for the conference by 7am. So I ended up not taking the breakfast paid for. Then had to buy outside later

Disappointing

Liked: The staff was very nice and in my case, the free luggage was very helpful. I liked the ensuite bathrooms.
Disliked: Just to let fellow travellers know, there is currently a very loud construction site behind the hostel.Due to a system error, I had to change rooms every night, but always during check-in and check-out times, which was very annoying. I know it's not the staffs fault, I would have been very happy to receive some kind of compensation tho.

Pleasant

Liked: The location was very convenient to get to the city centre.
Disliked: There is NO KITCHEN and when asking reception if they had facilities they said they purposely don’t advertise the fact they don’t even have a fridge! There was also construction work from 7am on a Sunday morning and no apology from staff.
