Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Lisa, Dunfermline, visiting O2 Academy Glasgow Tue, 3 December 2013

When we arrived at 4pm (check in was 2pm) we were told that our room wasn't ready. On calling housekeeping, we were then told that it was ready. The receptionist, we found, was quite patronising and not very friendly. When we got to our room, we realised we had a disabled bathroom which obviously wasn't suitable for us and not what we had booked. The bathroom was just a walk in shower and didn't even have a bath. The sink and facilities were obviously lowered for a disabled person but this was inconvenient for us. The radiatior didn't work and the room was freezing when we got there. We had asked for a DVD player which turned out to be a PS2 which kept skipping. The "double room" was actually just two separate single beds joined together which we weren't happy with as this is not what we asked for. We ordered drinks to our room and on arrival, the member of staff missed a drink off our order so had to go back and correct it. Overall, we weren't impressed with our stay and definitely wouldn't stay here again. Just generally disappointed as Best Western are a well known company and I never expected this from them.

Passable

Liked: We always stay in super cheap places and the price here was the lowest in the area which was good for us on a budget.
Disliked: We turned up and got shown in to a dirty room that someone had slept in. Went back to desk and got shown to another room, but even though this was actually ready for check in, it was really dirty. Full handprints on the windows, some sort of brown unidentifiable grease smeared on the bathroom walls, hair in the sink and shower. I'm a hostel person, and don't expect much, but this really didn't look good with a pandemic going on.
