I enjoyed my stay at the Rydges; so centrally situated; all the places are within walking distance; the staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Slow check in and check outroom rate was very expensive for one night and was for a delux room with city views. The room definitely wasnt delux and view not great. Room was opposite a noisy lift. Room basic, nothing extra. Not even a biscuit in the condiments.Bottom sheet on bed wasnt tucked in - I had to sort.Shower head is fixed to the wall and terrible water pressure. Parking expensive and not explained well upon check in.Overall I wouldnt stay here again, there are better options for the price you pay in auckland cbd

Rydges was perfect for our...

Liked: Room 1312 view of sky tower. We could watch the people jumping off the tower. Quiet room. Great shower. Comfey bed. Location was good with a quick Uber ride to Eden Park for a concert. And an easy walk to the waterfront to watch SailGP
Disliked: The fact that we had to go home.

Not worth the amount they...

Liked: The bed was comfortable and one of the staff members was kind enough to upgrade our room due to them being late with us being able to check in.
Disliked: Their check in is already later than usual with 3pm check in, when we arrived we couldn’t even check into our room. We needed to get in because we had evening plans, there was another 40 minute wait and no help/compensation for this wait offered at the time and the staff member was a little rude about it. For the price of these rooms this is not good enough. When we went back we got a nicer staff member who did amend the situation by upgrading the room and ensuring we could get into it. However this left us 15 minutes to get ready for our event which was very stressful. I didn’t think the rooms cleanliness standard was top notch, the bathroom could have used a good scrub. But otherwise fine.

Comfortable but disappointing

Liked: Have stayed here many times, always comfortable, great location to town etc
Disliked: Delays in getting into our room. Granted we did arrive early in the morning and asked if early check in was available which is wasnt due to 100% occupancy, advised to come back at 2 and should be ready, not ready, waited till 3, still not ready, took until 3:30 to get our room key, no other customers were turned away from the check in desk during the time we were sitting waiting (over an hour and a half). Customer service was not at all at the standard i have experienced in the past - very blase and dismissive of us which was quite disappointing.
