The Spotlight on Rutland Hall Hotel

Lakeside Relaxation Meets Concert-Ready Comfort

Modern yet classic, Rutland Hall Hotel is a charming countryside retreat perched above the stunning Rutland Water. Nestled between the historic towns of Oakham and Stamford, this hotel blends tranquil views with warm, upscale hospitality. With landscaped gardens, individually styled rooms (some with private balconies), and a heated indoor pool, it’s a welcome escape before or after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

While set just outside the bustle, Rutland Hall Hotel is still within easy reach of local music venues and festivals in Oakham, Stamford, and surrounding areas. After the show, unwind in peaceful surroundings far from the noise, with 24-hour front desk service and flexible support for late arrivals. The serene vibe and lake views make it a great contrast to the high energy of a concert night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a spacious, scenic base
  • Solo travelers wanting a quiet post-gig wind-down
  • Couples making a weekend getaway out of a show
  • Fans who want to sleep in and recharge with a view
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want comfort and charm

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Blossoms Bar and Restaurant offers a beautiful dining space with local ingredients and lake views. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the bar stays open late for drinks and light bites. Breakfast is available, ideal for those who sleep in after a late night. Plus, nearby Stamford and Oakham have a range of walkable pubs and eateries for pre- or post-concert meals.

Nightlife Options

Rutland Hall itself is more about chill than party, but that’s part of the charm. The hotel bar is a cozy spot for unwinding with a drink. For more action, short drives to Stamford or Oakham offer pubs with occasional live music and local ales.

What People Say

Guests love the tranquil setting, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. Many mention how relaxing it is to return here after a busy day or night. The views over Rutland Water consistently get high marks, and the gardens and leisure facilities are a welcome bonus.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers note that the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, so you’ll likely need a car or taxi to get to and from concerts. Also, while the indoor pool is a nice perk, it requires advance booking—which can catch some guests by surprise.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want peaceful vibes, comfy beds, and scenic views to come home to, Rutland Hall Hotel hits all the right notes.

Great stay, lot's of activities...

Liked: Our room was great, clean, comfy and well appointed. And the view from our balcony was lovely. The breakfast was substantial and tasty. The evening meals were good, the staff were very attentive.
Disliked: The evening menu was a bit pricey for what it was, although the food was cooked very well. The menu lacked quality salad options. There could have also been some better sides. The breakfast could have added smoked salmon and advertised poached eggs (which they kindly prepared). As the estate is sprawling with gym, reception and restaurant in separate buildings umbrellas should be provided.

lovely location, won't be going...

Liked: the buffet breakfast choices were really good, most of the staff we encountered were nice and helpfulthe location near to Rutland Water was lovely
Disliked: after only 24 hours being there we had to be issued 5 different room key cards until they worked properlythe site map issued at check-in didn't truly represent the layout of the site which is quite hilly, lots of awkward steep steps if you had limited mobility, we had to use the car to get to our rooms/restaurant/swimming pool - we were offered the hotel golf buggy service on day we checked out!
