Liked: The quality and professionalism of the staff. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone.
We both enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant that we felt compelled to comment on.
We only spent one night there but will return again for a longer break.

Very over priced, poor attitude...
Liked: The building is fabulous, Rooms dated, restaurant staff and bar staff i would fire the lot as there attitude and approach to flexibility is zero, mainly English ill add at this point as well, no surprise there i guess. The Spa could do with some investment and the food is very expensive, i was under the impression Breakfast was included through booking.com then to find out is was not, at £20 per head there is a lovely pub across the road and a garden centre near by that only charges you £6 so we went there for dinner and Breakfast, crazy thing was the staff recommended us to the pub !
We are a comfortable couple and we arrived in my Bentley but were dressed casually and i think the staff looked down on us little did they know that just because we are the way we are and we did not have a tweed jacket on and cord trousers this does not mean we did not deserve the be there no could not afford to be there. i manged to with hold my partner letting go on the Bar staff
I would not recommend this place unless all the staff were replaced with members who knew how to handle guests correctly
Disliked: as above is the details any one would need to read before booking there stay.

Excellent short soa break in...
Liked: Fantastic old building, loved the history of it. Very quirky. Lots of corridors and there were lifts to the upper floors which are very useful for less mobile customers. It's great to see someone take something like this and turn it into a super old style hotel for people to enjoy. Wasn't cheap but I think we got what we paid for and liked the attention to detail. My husband thinks I'm pretty fussy so our experience at the Rushton must have been good!
Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely room with a large comfy bed and nice big bathroom. We used the spa both days we were there and much enjoyed the facilities of the gym, jacuzzi and swimming pool. All very clean and my massage was excellent. We dined in the brasserie restaurant which was very nice although quite expensive. But we enjoyed the food and the service and even the music which complimented the ambience. Didn't try the afternoon tea but next time as we will definitely return for a special occasion or another January break next year
