Royal Victoria Hotel

Nice hotel but a bit run down but had some nice features. Sort out the bed and rating would be higher.

Liked: Breakfast.
Disliked: The bed was very uncomfortable and not really big enough for two people.

Basically a good stay and...

Liked: the bedroom was very large and spacious as was the bathroom. Nice clean bath and large.
Disliked: the breakfast was a little disappointing. All buffet help yourself which I am getting use to but pre made tea in a flask was very tepid which I hate and someone started clearing my table while I was getting a second piece of toast, before I had finished!!

Very poor

Liked: The room when was filthy dirt and groin kettle filthy bath dirty not good at all
Disliked: To be honest the Old Place was filthy dust everywhere growing breakfast could not eat one bar cereals was okay the breakfast of a bit was no good

Dated but lovely

Liked: Lovely location opposite the beach and only a 10 minute walk into the town, so close but away from the noise.
Disliked: The hotel is beautiful but not very clean. Lots of dust everywhere. There was no fridge in the room, which was unusual. There were also stains on the ceiling. The room did have an extra little room with a table and chairs in, so you have a coffee sitting down, which was good. The hotel is having a makeover, so hopefully, everything will improve.

Liked: Rooms are very generously sized and comfortable. Location is excellent.
Disliked: We had been bombarded with spam messages purporting to come from booking.com & the hotel asking us to verify our booking by following a link (we did not). Staff were fairly non-plussed Also, we had trouble with our door lock (keys needed recharging after every use) but no one seemed much bothered
