Liked: The staff were very pleasant on check in, and the hotel is a beautiful historic building ideally situated.There is ample parking (which in Betws Y Coed is a bonus) and you're permit lasts until 11pm on the day of checkout, which is great.Food in the restaurant was nice, and the cooked breakfast was also good.
Disliked: When we arrived in our superior room (pleasant room with nice views) it hadn't been cleaned (bed was made, but bins full, bathroom had dirty crockery in the sink, and smelt of drains). Though the room was nice, it did look like it needed a deep clean, as the sofa was a little grubby.Although we were a bit fed up with this, reception were very apologetic. I suggested we leave for an hour (pub next door) to allow cleaning, but they offered to upgrade us to a Deluxe room (4 poster bed and great views) instead. We were happy to do this, and this room was really nice. Sometimes things happen, but I think it's how it's addressed and they got it right.On a slightly minor note re the restaurant, the staff were very nice but no one checked back at any point at dinner. I'm not sure if this is something they are encouraged to do or not (as our waitress was really pleasant), but it would be nice, just to make sure all is good. Food was good, and we really enjoyed our stay.
