Liked: Great location, beautiful place, great room.
Disliked: £6.20 a pint was a bit much

It was a great and...
Liked: The breakfast was delicious. Had the Welsh breakfast which consisted of the usual bacon, sausage, fried egg, black pudding hash broen and beans. The following morning was a continental for me. The service for the restaurant was great and friendly staff. Service with a smile. The king deluxe room was in a great location of the hotel. We had a great view of the Conwy River. The walk along the river was amazing and the town of Betws-y-coed are great lovers of dogs. It's a pet friendly environment which I also loved.
Disliked: The heating in the king deluxe room gave me a big headache on the first night as the room was quite hot even with windows open and eith use of portable fan. Unfortunately, guests can not reduce the heat coming radiators.

Cracking Hotel
Liked: The place and room were amazing. Lovely people, clean, comfortable, relaxing.
Disliked: The only minor problem was the lack of vegetarian options on the main course menu. We made a tapas of vegetarian starters though, all of which were lovely.

Disliked: No fridge in room. Basic toiletries supplied. Expensive for what you get.

OK but not great -...
Liked: Excellent location and all the staff were very good. Good range of dining options across the Grill Room and the Y Stablau site next door (but same premises). Great as a hub for day trips. Food was very mixed - some fantastic and decently priced (e.g. the superfood salad with salmon). Others were bare-bones and overpriced (ribeye steak and chips with a single flattened mushroom and no greens, for over 30 quid. The wine was great - especially the Dead Man's Dice Malbec. I paid for a superior double room but was assigned a four-poster room (upgrade?). Room with a view of the street and the river.
Disliked: The quality of the interior was poor - it looked and felt very tired. Battered wood panels/edging/doors; curtain poles hanging off the wall; loose wall plug faceplate and flickering lights. Dusty. Sash windows rattle in the wind and let through a lot of outside noise. Bed (mattress) nowhere near as comfy as others at different hotels. Fine dining restaurant only open at weekends and was booked for an event so couldn't use it. The grill room feels more like a Little Chef than a restaurant, so I didn't dress up for dinner. Expensive - 5 nights with breakfast included was 1200 quid, and dinner was regularly costing 30-45 quid per night. Most meals lacked greens, which is odd and was frustrating. Bed quite high off the ground and facing low sash windows: while laying on the bed I can see people outside on the road - so very little privacy unless you close the blackout curtains.
