Set in a magnificent former coaching inn Royal Oak Hotel is surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia National Park. With free parking and traditional rooms the property is located along the historic A5 route from Holyhead to London The individual rooms boast scenic views and luxury modern bathrooms with free toiletries. Period property, great location but...

Liked: Fabulous location for explore the mountains and coast. Easy to use public buses. Plenty of choices to eat in Betwys y Coed. People friendly.
Disliked: Royal Oak extremely overpriced and not even including breakfast. The Stable accommodation is lovely but very noisy with other guests having no respect to others... loud and slamming doors when trying to sleep. The food for supper menu great choice but they had to sort out hair in food, sadly. Hygiene in bedroom disgusting. Pillow case had large patch of mildew on it. The bed bolster cushion dirty and full of stains. Flagged up with management to sort out but general feeling they were sorry but not sorry as the hotel can almost monopolise the area for convenient accommodation.

Lovely central location in a...

Liked: Excellent location right in the heart of town, lovely amazing locally produced food. Room very spacious and clean, Mari at dinner was a fabulous host
Disliked: Staff at breakfast not very attentive, showed to our table and not told about the help yourself Buffett area, lots of other guests saying the same had to find it ourselves
