Very enjoyable stay with nice...
Liked: Excellent location, lovely evening meal and breakfast.
Disliked: Personally the very busy queue for the outside restaurant which we had to pass heading to the inside restaurant, no social distancing or masks worn by any customers queuing.

Pleasant overnight in Betws-y-coed
Liked: Nice room, a little on the small side BUT sufficient. Very hot weather meant leaving the window open which also submitted us to noise from the church bells, next door, and the bin lorry the next morning. the full "Welsh" breakfast was tremendous and dinner in the hotel the previous evening was very good.
Disliked: a soundproofed room with A/C, but that's rare anywhere, overall no real complaints.

Liked: Staff were very helpfulBeds were big and comfortable Covid rules were in place and being followed
Disliked: No fridge in the room, would have been nice to cool water etc for our hike given it was 27c when we went. Or be able to store some of our food so it would go off in the heat

A Shadow of its Former...
Liked: The staff, especially the receptionist's team on check in were excellent.
Disliked: The room that we were originally allocated was over the kitchen and reeked of stale food and fumes. We were given a free upgrade which met our expectations, but not if we had to pay the full rate. The breakfast was made to a price and not a standard. The cleanliness in the public areas could have been better and the carpet in the Grill Room want's condemning. Overall, the Royal Oak is in desperate need of a refurbishment, which is surprising since the Stables restaurant next door, owned by the same company, is really very good.

Liked: Really old established hotel in the middle of the town. Ideal for access to all areas.
