The 18th-century Royal Oak at Keswick is in the market town of Keswick just 2 miles from Derwentwater. A traditional pub it features home-cooked seasonal food cask ales and cozy accommodations with private bathrooms. We had a great stay...

Liked: My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was great, breakfast was really nice, and the room was quite comfortable and clean. Highly recommend, especially if you plan to travel with your pet!
Disliked: Clean, comfortable, centrally located, staff.

Very disappointed with our stay.

Liked: The food was good. Location was good too.
Disliked: We didn't have any windows to see out in the room. Constant noise from extractor fans outside. Very small bedroom and small bed and ensuite. Had to walk sideways down the side of the bed. Had to have the light on all the time. . It rained 3 times during the night we could here it above us. It was like being in a conservatory. No milk in the fridge had to ask for it.

Very good

Liked: Hotel is in an ideal location. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are very clean. We would definately stay again
Disliked: We were in room 10, the room itself was lovely however the floor is on quite a big incline. My husband felt like he was falling out of bed all night. Also you dont have a great deal of space in the shower, its very small. This didnt spoil our stay.

Disliked: The properties own web site says in its FAQ section that free parking is available. It isn’t.

Short, not so sweet, and...

Liked: I didn't have it as I left early
Disliked: Constant noise. From 11 o clock it was loud people, banging, people carrying on. From ab9ut 1am thru till 3am there were 2 separate babies crying constantly, I got up and left as could not tolerate it anymore. Complete waste of a trip, there was no staff about to see about another room of anything to help. No breakfast, bad sleep, went home...Hotel is lovely as are the staff...so this wasn't about them

Not an enjoyable break away.

Liked: Not a great deal as we asked for certain things for dinner and these were ignored.
Disliked: We were promised breakfast early as I agreed with the staff and then the chef who was in on Tuesday night. However as we got up at the agreed time for breakfast the chef didnt turn up no offer of anything else for breakfast, So we had to leave hungry.
