Great accommodation in a fantastic...

Liked: I decided to extend an extra two days of Fringe and I wished I’d stayed at the Royal Mile my whole stay. Clean, comfortable and great location
Disliked: The Wifi was weak and had a tendency to drop out. The stairs are steep but worth it

Do not stay here.

Liked: Nothing, absolutely atrocious.
Disliked: Dangerously steep stairs with no handrail. Boiling hot rooms with no AC or fan. No bottled water or fridges in the room. Seriously bad bed and pillows.

Fabulous location and Scottish charm.

Liked: Great Location, charm and character.
Disliked: Shower was missing a door and impractical to use .

The perfect peaceful haven in...

Liked: The property is perfectly located. It’s self check but I did meet a very charming cleaner. The room is perfectly appointed with very comfortable bed, practical layout giving a workspace and closet area and an excellent shower room. It was nicely decorated with the ambiance of old exposed stone work well woven into an overall modern look.
Disliked: I loved everything. I will be back.

Location location location. Pros outweigh...

Liked: Location very central on royal mile close to castle. But tucked away and easy to find. Instructions very good and important to read.
Disliked: Narrow winding staircase would be difficult to get large bags up. We had small bags so worked ok for us but still needed a rest once up. Would not be able to do it if you had mobility issues.

Horrible & Most Expensive Place...

Liked: Very hard to find anything positive about this place. Our stay, which was supposed to be for 7 days and was prepaid, was so bad we left after the second night. The owners refused to give us even a partial refund... so we had to pay for the replacement rental also. This was the Most Expensive Stay ever!!! This was a HORRIBLE experience!!
Disliked: The pictures of this place correctly tell what is in the room EXCEPT there is no room to move. This is a tiny space. We had two suitcases. We barely had room to open them.The trick photography doesn't show that the foot of the bed has barely enough room to walk past it. That cute little table in the corner can't be used because everything on the table can not be moved somewhere else. There is no other space unless you put your suitcase in the bed. Only a very small person could sit in those chairs because the bed corner is almost touching it there.There is a refrigerator but it was the smallest one I've ever seen. It wouldn't hold all our groceries that we bought! To fill the hot pot, you have to bring several half cups of water to fill it BECAUSE the bathroom sink is so small you can't get a cup or the hotpot underneath the faucet. You also can't wash your face without getting the floor wet. In our room, the toilet was running ..all the time.The windows in our room were old, rotting, and not sealed. This meant the cold Edinburgh wind was keeping the bathroom especially cold! On top of that, everything that was said in the courtyard below was heard in our room. Need I go on?

Liked: It is in the center of royal mile, staff are helpful.
Disliked: In order to reach this place you will have to get through a tunnel so it can get scary in the night ,It is not suitable for families or traveler with luggage because to reach your apartment you need to go through an old long spiral stairs, rooms are dusty , some rooms are without fans so it can get pretty hot in the summer times, no reception and you can contact them only by email and even sometimes no answer, their is a bar just beside the apartment,

Disliked: The hike up 4 floors with a suitcase. But the castle staircase was beautiful.

Completely disappointing and overpriced.

Disliked: The second story staircase access was narrow, step and dangerous without a handrail, which made it almost impossible to carry up heavy luggage. The small room is situated above a pub, which was noisy until the early hours of the morning. The room was advertised as a king room, but contained a lumpy uncomfortable queen bed with poor quality pillows and towels. The bathroom was tiny with poor quality toiletries. I emailed and sent a text to the hosts prior to this review, but have not received the courtesy of a response. We moved out of accommodation after the first night, despite having paid for three nights. A completely disappointing experience.
