Perfect location in the centre...

Liked: Perfect location on the Royal Mile. The reception staff were excellent. Really comfortable bed and overall excellent value for money.
Disliked: A bit noisy with a band playing at the bar next door

Satisfactory.

Liked: They are very organized, and it’s good to know that the staff there are volunteering. Their check-in card provided me with discounts at various pubs around the Royal Mile.
Disliked: The place is a bit too small.

Liked: Great social hostel in the centre of Edinburgh, close to bars and restaurants. Beds were comfortable enough. Lots of activities to participate in.
Disliked: No curtains around the bed

Great value for money in...

Liked: My friend and I were wanting cheap accommodation in Edinburgh, and you can't get more value for money then backpacker accommodation. Located on the Royal Mile so a fantastic location to explore cental Edinburgh. Royal Mile Backpackers organize lots of activities for guests, so if you're travelling on your own, would be a great way to meet people.
Disliked: I'm not sure if they had the option of smaller dorm rooms. By the time I booked there was only mixed 8 bed dorms available. Or maybe I'm just getting too old / fussy to stay in a backpacker - I did turn 60 this year! Although it was noisy being on the Royal Mile, I found the street noise to be oddly hypnotic. I can't say the same for the snoring - but then, I probably snored too!
