Disliked: I did like thatbthe day before we checked in we check to see if we could checkmjn early and were informed that the room i booked with onsuite was no longer avable and and they have moved us to a larger room with no on suite no reason was given just that they said they try to contact me which they didn't so we canceled and we had bokked the room mouth inadvance iam not sure if i will ever go back there hotels should be able to cancel or change a room with out talking to the costumer directly

Liked: Everything. I was chilled all day after climbing onto a plane on a figid day at Billy Bishop in Toronto, straight off the wind blown tarmac. Just couldn't get warm and was in dire need of a hot shower and big comfortable bed in a nice old home that reminded me of my youth... The Royal is just that, and more, where the Inn Keep has just the right personality to make it all work. The Royal is a wonderful place to rest your head!
Disliked: The fact I was not smart enough to unlock my room door, and kept locking myself out... a total embarrassment on my part, that you would think a seasoned traveler would know how to fix by simply using the readily available door stop, or alternatively, just unlocking the door!!!,g

This charming old hotel was...

Liked: Free wifi. Breakfast was simple and delicious. My son booked the room and didn’t realize that I would share a bathroom on the third floor with several other rooms. I paid a modest amount to upgrade to a room that only shared a bathroom with one other room. It was 5 on a Monday night and I was otherwise charmed by the 1895 hotel so I took the risk that that room wouldn’t be taken and it wasn’t. There was at least one room with its own bathroom. Each room had its own sink. The hostess/owner is lovely and I would happily recommend it as long as you understand that all rooms don’t have a private bathroom. I loved the vintage feel to the place. The bed was new and the entire place was very clean and comfortable.
