Sad old hotel
Liked: Location was right for us
Disliked: Noisy, old and drab, poor lighting in room, bad coffee, no makeup mirror in bathroom and insufficient lighting. Needs a complete Reno.

Liked: Check-in online meant faster check-in at the hotel
Disliked: I haven't had a stay quite like this one in many years. I stayed here in September 2024, and it was adequate for my needs so I booked here again. This time was bad. The front desk receptionist was not friendly - we waited at length patiently while the previous people in line tried to check-in without having ID or credit card on them. When the receptionist was in the middle of processing their check-in he asked our name (no greeting) saw we were already checked in online and handed us our keys quickly with no welcome, just a rapid automated spiel of information about the hotel. Our room, 301, was dark - dark decor and a small window with dark curtains. The room lighting is poor and with an eco-friendly fluorescent bulb in the bathroom where really you need instant full light to see your face or do makeup, so that was annoying to have to wait till it came up to full strength. The room was directly opposite the elevator and there was a stale cannibis-type smell outside our door. The light in the corridor was directly outside and shone through the edges of the door all night. The heating/cooling system is terrible. It sounds like there is a MAC truck in your room, starting up every 8 minutes for 12 minutes at a time. I timed it....all night. I could not sleep. And it was impossible to turn off. The system is either set to auto or on. The pillows were either very soft and non supportive, or so firm my head kept rolling off. The room has 2 queen beds - but only ONE bedside table and lamp. And only one plug available to charge a phone by the bed. No kettle in room to make a cup of tea (boiling water required, but only a coffee-pod machine in room) and none available from front desk. I was directed to the breakfast room to find hot water - in a flask - but it was only luke warm. Sigh. No milk in room for coffee or tea - just powdered creamer.
