I will not stay there...
Liked: Location was great.
Disliked: 1. Hotel is really shabby and needs some work. 2. Hotel staff seemed more interested in their phones than in looking after guests. I kept having to go and look for staff just to get a drink at the bar or check in.3. Hotel was almost empty so why give the existing guests such poor rooms? I had a room at the back with a view over the back roof and an all day sound of the kitchen extractor fan. I did not feel like a valued guest despite the cost of the stay.4. On Monday evening when I went for dinner I was told the kitchen was closed on Mondays. Why would you do that? All the guests had to go elsewhere. In fact it worked out well as I realised the Prince Llewelyn nearby had better food, cheaper beer (£4.50 a pint compared to over £6 at the Royal Goat) and better accommodation. Lesson for where to stay next time.5. Breakfast was poor. Coffee was instant coffee put in a coffee machine to look like real coffee. Breakfast cheaper and much better at the local cafe.

Hotel very tired, small room....
Liked: Fantastic location for Beddgelert.
Disliked: Hotel appears very tired , in need of some tlc. Very small room , unable to keep window open and room very hot, luckily a fan had been supplied and was needed all night. No extractor fan in bathroom , so very steamed up !

Lovely, friendly hotel in fantastic...
Liked: Fantastic location in beautiful village. Room had a view over the village to the mountains. The bedrooms have been renovated since our last visit and are more modern and attractive. We asked for a choice of room when we arrived and chose one with a view and a bath. Very friendly, helpful staff. The staff work very hard and are very attentive to adapt to customer needs. I saw them provide an evening sandwich to someone even though it wasn’t on the menu. Comfortable, attractive bar/restaurant area to sit in the evening- and it’s nice to sit outside in the front when it’s warm enough. Good beer on tap. Lovely curries (we had one lamb and one chicken) and great Indian snack starter in the restaurant, lovely cheesecake too. Nice to have coffee/tea and biscuits replenished in the room each day. We didn’t eat breakfast here as we preferred to try different cafes in the village for breakfast. There’s a choice of restaurants in the village too. They are continuing to renovate so I expect it to improve and we would like to come back
Disliked: It would be good to have blackout curtains as the light comes in - and to have some hand rails near the bath to help with getting out of it.
