Susan, Wolverhampton, visiting Royal Albert Hall London Mon, 13 May 2024

Lovely hotel and for the most part lovely staff. Beware, we were told to be at the restaurant for breakfast before 10.30. We were not told all food is removed at exactly 10.30. We were made to feel very uncomfortable when we weren't out of there at 10.30 on the dot.

Liked: Very clean.
Disliked: Breakfast.

Pleasant

Liked: The location of the hotel is excellent, as always, and the staff members were very helpful and professional. I would like to give special thanks to the Deputy Manager, Mr. Mohamed, who made great efforts to make my stay easier and more comfortable. However, for the amount paid and the high star rating of this hotel, I expected at least the basic level of comfort. The lobby sofas were changed, and unfortunately, the new ones are not comfortable at all—they have no proper back support and seem designed to discourage guests from sitting in the lobby. This leaves no option for comfortably waiting or sitting in the lobby area. Thanks to the Deputy Manager, we were upgraded to a larger room of over 60 square meters. But surprisingly, the room had almost no furniture. Apart from a small desk chair, there were no chairs to sit on. Only after raising the issue did the manager and his assistant bring in some furniture from another room so that my wife and I could have proper seating.Another issue was the air conditioning. For such a large room, the unit was too small and ineffective, barely cooling the bedroom. We eventually had to buy two fans ourselves, and the management also brought in two additional fans to improve the situation.Frankly speaking, when paying £400 per night, these are not the types of problems a guest should need to address. Basic amenities such as proper seating in both the lobby and the room, as well as sufficient air conditioning, should already be in place without special requests.Overall, while I deeply appreciate the efforts of the staff—especially Mr. Mohamed—I do not believe that the value received matches the high price and star rating of this hotel.

Disappointing

Disliked: a staff member knocked on my door, and before I could even open it, she came straight in. She only asked me “Is everything fine?” and then left. Why would she enter my room just to ask that? This makes no sense and it feels like a complete invasion of my privacy.
