Not good.

Liked: The location as there was a lot around.
Disliked: Having to be buzzed in and out to use your vehicle made it so I did not want to use it which wasn’t beneficial to my quick trip. I did not know it turned into a bar with a band at night. Very noisy outside the window. The pictures overall of the place were very deceiving.

Very good

Liked: If you love New Orleans jazz, this hotel perfect: it's really close to most of the main bars/venues and it hosts fabulous bands in its lobby most nights. The hotel itself is a glorious, old (1830s?) somewhat quirky place with a lovely courtyard and helpful, friendly staff. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to friends.
Disliked: The hotel advertises an accessibility room for those less mobile guests, my husband being one of them. We booked this room. However, when we arrived, there was really loud music in the lobby. The person who checked us in said there was no way we could stay in the accessibility room because of the loud music, and so we were shown to a (small with tiny windows) top floor room. My husband managed fine but if we'd had the choice we'd probably have booked a lower, larger room with proper windows instead. The hotel shouldn't advertise the accessibility room if it can't be used.

The Royal Frenchmen is a...

Liked: Fabulous location, very friendly & helpf staff (with one exception) great entertainment and wonderful ambiance!
Disliked: There was one night staff member who worked several shifts while I was there. Every night she worked, my key malfunctioned at the night entrance to the hotel. (worked perfectly well at all other times) She came to open the gate and came up with some fantasy about I had been locked out of the hotel system and also would not be able to enter my room. After about 10 to 15 minutes, I insisted she give me a functioning key, and she did. I checked with the General Manager who verified that this “lock out of system” story was inaccurate. The next night the exact same thing happed only this time she claimed that the key had demagnetized in my wallet. The keys worked perfectly well all time, except at night when she was working. I had almost the exact same experience with her the last time I stayed at the hotel as well.

Passable

Liked: The location is great. The guy at the front desk is great. I think his name is Dan. The room is small but nicely kept.
Disliked: I don't like that the water wasn't even warm in the early morning hours. Cold shower. Also there was a half bottle of vodka under my bathroom sink left behind from guests before me. I didn't even complain. I particularly didn't like that my 150$ deposit was kept. Not returned to me. I called the hotel. Numerous times.. They say it was supposed to be returned. It never was. That was nearly a month ago. - Heather

I have stayed all over...

Liked: The staff were very friendly and she let us store our luggage until check in. Street parking was easy, but you will have to walk a block or so. So we did not have to pay to park. The restaurant right next to the hotel is amazing, we had the best time.
