Located in the picturesque Devonshire town of Illfracombe is the Royal Britannia Hotel. Totally refurbished in 2010 the hotel overlooks the harbor and has 2 restaurants and 2 bars offering cuisine from Northern China Sunday carvery and bar meals. Former notable guests of the hotel include Lord Admiral Nelson and King Edward VII. Rooms at the Royal Britannia feature TVs and tea/coffee making facilities while some have sea views and spa baths. The large restaurant has exposed wooden beams and serves English and international cuisine. There is a carvery with a range of meat and a sea-food menu featuring the fresh catch from Illfracombe harbor. There are two bars serving a wide range of drinks and light snacks throughout the day. Devonshire cream teas are also available for guests to enjoy. The hotel is surrounded by the harbor stunning countryside walks. The golden sandy beaches of Woolacommbe are a haven for surfers and are a 10-minute drive away.

Great holiday hotel for B&B.

Liked: Friendly Staff at check in, food/drink serving and around the site. Ideal location. Food was great for evening meal (including kids menu) and the breakfast. All very fresh and good quality. Child & dog friendly restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Adequate room for a night with good, clean en-suite. Quiet and comfortable.
Disliked: There are lots of stairs and uneven floors that could be a problem for some people. There is no specific parking but very close by there is parking which offers 24hr parking with RingGo app at £9.50 a day (up to 7 days available).
