Liked: The property itself is lovely and easy to find. The grounds are great and well kept gardens. We had most things you would need to a stay and the mini bar (with soft drinks) was a good touch.
Disliked: There was a wedding on the same time which clearly caused some stress to staff. It was very busy and we had to stand there and wait for some time to be acknowledged that we weren’t wedding party. Despite me standing at the check in desk. We arrived at 3.30pm (check in is 3) to be told that our room wouldn’t be ready for another hour. We had a very long day travelling and we weren’t given much as an alternative. We got a small apology from the reception member but nothing else. We were told we could walk the grounds (which aren’t that big) or buy a drink at the restaurant on site. But not the bar as we Aren’t aloud in there due to the wedding. The restaurant was VERY busy full of wedding guests (though they already have a massive own private bar?) . I felt very awkward trying to find a space to wait and buy a very expensive drink to waste time. We had early dinner reservations down the road. So by the time we got to our rooms it gave us very little time to get ready which again made our stay very stressful. The service was very poor at this point and we had no form of compensation for the hour delay. We could have been offered a free drink as an example or? Even complimentary breakfast.The rooms are tired overall and could do with an update. We found few long dark hairs in our towels and generally shabby looking carpets in the room. The bed was clean and comfortable. I would not recommend staying here on a wedding day as they clearly can’t cope with running the Hotel and wedding guests. The final kicker was that we had check out at 11 the next day (despite not being aloud into our room an hour and half late due to their own errors) and that we had to be off site by this time due to another wedding they had that had exclusive use of the venue. Again- no form of sorry or compensation. Poor customer service overall.

Liked: Beautiful property with exquisite grounds. Fab rooms all with fridge, tv,iron and hairdryer. Very clean and tidy

Liked: The friendly relaxed atmosphere and the well kept grounds.
Disliked: The fact the breakfast was entirely buffet, prefer my cooked food to be freshly prepared rather than sitting under hot lights.
