Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Not worth the hassle of...

Liked: Nice location
Disliked: The rooms and the wider hotel in general is very tired. Our room didn't feel clean and lacked any niceness about it. It was very very hot during the night, and I hear you saying "open a window then". If we did that, the church bell tower, that chimed every 15 mins, longer on the half hour, and even longer on the hour with the lovely addition of bongs for each hour, would have been way more insufferable than it was. The other guests were very noisy through the whole night and at 6.30 the music started up next door to our room, with even louder voices to be heard over the music. And the doors slamming were honestly like someone was opening and closing our own room door. Overall, disappointing stay and they issue at breakfast with no tables to accommodate the number of guests in the dining room, we ended up being put in the area that's used for weddings. But at least that was quiet This was supposed to be a nice evening away for my husband's birthday and also the start to our silver wedding anniversary celebrations. We've come home so tired and wishing we'd just stayed at home and saved the money, as it wasn't cheap

Very good

Liked: Perfect stunning location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was of good quality with plenty of choice. Great parking.
Disliked: We didn't dislike anything, but the bathroom could do with a new shower screen, it leaked terribly on the floor. Couldn't complain about anything else!

Stunning views, restful ambience and...

Liked: Nestled in the quaint village of Rhu, the Rosslea Hall Hotel is a great stay if you love a lake-fed river meets the sea view vibe. It is definitely not your average UK Inn that is usually meant to only arrive after your touristy day and doze off. I wish we had planned more days here because even if it seems like there isn't much to do, you can walk around an almost private beach and just relax in and around the property after a tiresome hike in Trossachs National Park and the busy shores of Loch Lomond in the summer. Welcoming staff, Scotland NEVER disappoints in people. Also, to reiterate - West is the best (the coast of Scotland, you must not miss). Plan your transit in advanc,e as this is the epitome of remote - car or camper van is ideal, but we took a train up to Helensburgh and a bus from the city centre to a bus stop very close to the property. Order the strawberry sundae as a treat <3
Disliked: We experienced a minor issue with our hotel's lock and key. However, the staff was extremely prompt in ensuring we were taken care of in the meantime, and the issue was resolved fairly quickly.
