Great hotel, lovely staff and...
Liked: Hotel was clean. Breakfast was great value. Staff were friendly and approachable. Specific thank you to Matteo
Disliked: We did originally book a twin room but we're given a double. We asked to change which the staff kindly helped with but they were unable to provide this apart from a room with a sofa bed which was not what we originally booked.

UNPLEASANT HOT NIGHTS!
Liked: Silence of the night. My room, 238, was 2nd floor facing the nature reserve on the back of hotel.
Disliked: My stay was 9 nights from 09 Aug to 18 Aug. I chose and paid on booking a room specifically advertised with air conditioning as also stated on my written confirmation. I was given room 238. On my arrival I found 27°C, existing air conditioning not working, light of mirror at entrance flashing and not working, impossibility to open window more than 5 cm as chained for safety reasons, a table fan that had to leave on all night to fresh room and a tower fan that I turned off immediately because of its noise. Morning after I informed reception of that and I was simply told that room only has a cooling system but not air conditioning (?). While in the public areas it was overairconditioned and some people were dressed up with jackets, my room was a greenhouse! I pointed out that what they call cooling system was fully dead despite what is written above it(see picture). Because of hot days I found my room on my way back from the day out also 28.5 °C making our staying in the room extremely uncomfortable and an experience to forget. As I did not get any support to our evident conditions I have also put it in writing both to the hotel manager and to booking.com customer service. NOT 1 WORD BACK FROM BOTH. I will check out in the next hour and I will repeat it to the kind people at the desk that have not been able to support despite the commitment notes for customer care hung all over the places. Not even the flashing light was fixed in 10 days. I will surely ask for a reimbursement of what I paid that was not what I bought. I have only noticed that now the site has REMOVED the air conditioning from.the available services, but there was when I bought it and it is confirmed on the receipt that will be used for a legal action when back home in Italy. Disappointing
Liked: Staff were efficient and polite. Food was good.Location would normally be great for Cambridge city, only the street was closed between the Holiday Inn and city due to a housing development.
Disliked: The toilet didn't flush. Reported to reception, but no action taken.

Good value for money.
Liked: Breakfast was good. Could of done with more cut up fresh fruit instead of tinned. Friendly staff.
Disliked: A bit far out from train station. Half hour walk to town.
