Disliked: During my recent travels, I had the opportunity to stay at two Room Mate hotels: one in Amsterdam and the other in Rotterdam. While I had high expectations based on my previous experience, I found that the Room Mate hotel in Amsterdam did not live up to the quality of its counterpart in Rotterdam.The Room Mate Rotterdam impressed me with its modern design, spacious rooms, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff there were friendly and accommodating, making my stay all the more enjoyable. The amenities were well-maintained, and I appreciated the vibrant common areas that encouraged socializing.In contrast, the Room Mate hotel in Amsterdam felt cramped and less inviting.Moreover, at the Amsterdam location, the receptionist—a blonde woman—seemed particularly unhelpful. Whenever I approached her with questions or requests, her demeanor was brusque, and it felt like I was bothering her. This negative interaction stood in stark contrast to the otherwise friendly service I received in Rotterdam. In summary, while both hotels share the same brand, my experience at the Room Mate hotel in Amsterdam was significantly less enjoyable compared to the one in Rotterdam. I would recommend the Rotterdam location without hesitation, but I would advise travelers to think twice about staying in Amsterdam.
