Romana Hotel - Houston Southwest

I can not recommend this hotel - the day time staff was rude at best and the room was FILTHY - too bad I can't post pics here... Unfortunately we didn't have time to find another location (we were on a tight schedule to get to our event.) The ONLY reason we stayed was because it was VERY close to The Arena Theater - but there ARE other options - you just need to look.

Horrible front desk employees and...

Liked: The AC went out in our apartment and my brother and I needed to come here just to get AC for a couple of nights. The AC in the room wasn't the greatest but it worked.
Disliked: The guy that checked my brother and I in the first night was unbelievably rude! He took my ID and said I needed to give him $40 cash for a security deposit. I tried to give him $100 and get change but he yelled at me, "I SAID I DON'T HAVE CHANGE AND YOU CAN'T GET YOUR ROOM UNTIL YOU GIVE ME EXACTLY $40 CASH." I asked him where I could get cash and he mentioned the had station a glad miles down the road. He didn't mention that there was an ATM in the lobby! Then when I was on my way to get cash the guy let my brother pay the security deposit with his card. This employee was deliberately rude to me and my brother when we were just trying to get a room for a couple nights so we can get some AC. He wanted to make the transaction as excruciatingly painful as possible! Worst employee I've ever dealt with in any business!

Disliked: The value was deceptive. I paid on booking and also was charged $40 deposit on my card upon arrival. Which has not been refunded. Broken tvin the room . Non closing patio door.dingy carpet. Stained and rusting faucets.
