Very satisfactory for an overnight...

Liked: Good location, decent-sized room, friendly staff. Fantastic and generous full English breakfast! Very relaxed atmosphere.
Disliked: Meagre slice of (very good) pie for dinner. Generally a bit untidy.

We will definitely pass by...

Liked: Ideal for us. We were heading for Scotland to see family and basically just wanted somewhere to sleep. This place was ideal for us. Right on the road so we had no problem finding it. We thought we were going to be too late for dinner but it was not a problem. We had a fabulous meal in a cozy little bar. The room was great with tea and coffee making facilities and the full breakfast the following morning was exceptional. Staff so kind and accommodating.

Liked: The atmosphere at this place is lovely , locals very friendly . The staff are absolutely incredible and can not do enough for u . The menu is classic pub grub but cooked excellent
Disliked: rooms smelt damp must have had a recent leak but were clean and had everything we needed so didn’t mind

A good stop on a...

Liked: Very well-located on the borders of North Yorkshire and County Durham, a good place for a stopover. The rooms are on the smallish side but scrupulously clean, and the double-glazing meant it was quiet even though it's on a main road. We slept well, and the breakfast was terrific - the 'small English' was the perfect size for me, while my husband enjoyed his 'full English', and the quality was great.

Liked: We chose this location as a stop over on the way to Scotland.The staff were very friendly and welcoming..Clean and comfortable room with a spacious ensuite bathroom.The breakfast was delicious and very generous. There was a variety of options available, and the host at breakfast was a lovely lady who couldn't do more.Enjoyable stay. We will definitely visit again.
