Horrific experience.
Liked: My first impression was the front desk clerk sitting behind a glass wall. I asked if it was safe there. He said it was, the glass was for show. Then he requested a $50 deposit in cash! I gave him my credit card and he said he'd "only" charge $30 and it would take 2 weeks to be reimbursed.
Disliked: Paid for the room after making reservation on Booking.com. At front desk checkout, the clerk charged my card AGAIN for the room plus the deposit. I showed him the screenshot of my payment at Booking.com and of the charges clearing my bank account, and he argued with me that was my problem, they wouldn't get paid by Booking.com -- and he refused to refund the room charges. Called Booking.com, and they were less than helpful, told me to call the property. Then they asked me to send them my bank statement, hotel receipt, etc., which I did, and they were supposed to respond w/in 24-48 hours. A WEEK LATER I got an email asking for the documents again. Tried to call for clarification and got an "AI agent" that didn't recognize my reservation number. A really crooked deal. BOTH Booking.com and Rodeway got paid for the same hotel stay, both gave terrible customer service, neither refunded me the night's stay. BOTH are bad, bad, bad.
