Rodeway Inn Albuquerque Downtown on Rt 66

Were informed they only have 2 smoking rooms so if you smoke I recommend calling to talk to them personally.

Liked: Front desk workers were very nice.
Disliked: Only disappointing because of Booking.com. I booked a smoking room, received confirmation from Booking.com that it was. When I arrived, front desks confirmation said non-smoking. Was advised by the office to call the hotel directly next time; not sure if it was the bathroom or the water but there was a faint odor of sewage in the bathroom.

Disliked: the remote of the tv was not working

Extremely rude staff member made...

Disliked: The office assistance tried to make me pay an additional cleaning fee. When I showed her that I had already paid a cleaning fee on my Booking.com invoice she became very rude. She then said that I was trying to check-in late (it was past 11:00 pm) and that she did not have to allow me to check in. I again showed her my Booking.com reservation where I gave notice that my plane was going to arrive after 11:00 pm and that I would be checking-in close to midnight. The Booking.com reply was that the motel was notified and would not be a problem.The staff member then threatened to cancel my reservation because I was being argumentative and she said that she would call the police if I did not leave. I had just finished travelling from Europe, it was midnight, I was tired, and there were no other hotels to check into at that time. The staff member only allowed me to stay if I paid an additional $50 deposit in cash. I paid the cash deposit but she would not sign a receipt that I had paid it.Luckily when I checked out the next morning the other staff member gave me my deposit back.The person who checked me in was extremely rude, did not honor the reservation I had made through Booking.com, and did not acknowledge the notes I had sent to Booking.com which I had a reply that all was OK and taken care of.I have traveled to many countries and stayed at multiple hotels. I have never been treated to such bad customer service as I received from that staff member. I cannot ever recommend that hotel.

Handy motel in downtown area

Liked: Decent downtown location, good pricing point, good size bedroom and bathroom. Parking felt secure.
Disliked: Nothing - it was a cheap motel but better than we expected.

Exceptional

Liked: Nice cool room. Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom.
Disliked: No noise despite on main road.no breakfast available at time we left. 0845.

Great motel, definitely recommend.

Liked: The owner was very nice and willing to help.
Disliked: Nothing really, it is a motel with old equipment, but the bed was really comfortable, the room was quiet, and it had everything I needed. For the price, it is definitely fair!

We have marked this Rodeway...

Liked: We had stayed a week earlier at a Rodeway Inn in Tucumcari and was very impressed. This is an older property and our room was pretty small. We had a frig and microwave but NO coffee pot. Electrical outlets were very difficult to find. We had to move the mattress from the wall to plug in my husband’s C pap and the outlet was exposed and loose. Every time he turned in bed the C Pap would shut off. The only mirror was in the bathroom. Nowhere else to get ready.

Unhappy.

Disliked: Advertised as pet friendly but no where for our dog to go potty. Lots of homeless in the the parking lot. Felt unsafe. We left after only a couple hours.

Low amenities and support, but...

Liked: The location was awesome. Right on Route 66 for a great price.
Disliked: They had some bogus note on the ice machine, saying it did not work until the spring or something. I bet it doesn’t work in the spring either. I think any in every hotel in the USA should have ice. Also, the general manager refused to allow a late check out, even when there were less than half of the units occupied in hotel. I found that to be cheap.
