Great location, Great character!
Liked: I always stay at the Rodd Charlottetown when I have to stay in Charlottetown overnight. I love the very central inner CBD location, I love the convenience of the dining room and the friendliness of the staff. I also love the solid vintage character of the Rodd Charlottetown, which began life as the railway hotel for Charlottetown and still has some of that charm. There is a lot of renovation work going on but I hope they hang onto the charm and don't make it too generic.
Disliked: Off hand can't think of anything worth complaining about.

Charming hotel & restaurant!
Liked: Love the history the hotel & city have to offer, staff were all lovely and the restaurant was great also. We ended up needing a later checkout time which was accommodated without issue. Check out was fast and easy. We would love to return in the future.
Disliked: There was some construction during our stay which was a bit unlucky, especially when traveling with a baby the noise can be tricky. We booked this hotel with a discounted rate, which made sense when we saw they were undergoing renovations.

Classic clean in old world...
Liked: The property is undergoing reservations but aside from that it is a great mix of old school charm and modern cleanliness. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly. We asked for 2 extra towels since there were three of us and we recieved 2 extra sets which worked out amazingly for us. Clean modern room.

Not the best
Liked: It was in a nice area
Disliked: Hi there,Now that I was able to get some sleep, here goes my email. I had stayed at the hotel last night (Thursday, March 13-14th) with my partner and 2 nieces. We arrived yesterday around 2:30. We stayed in room #222.However, we asked for a late checkout for noon and we were told yes. We were excited to get to spend some more time at the hotel and possibly even go down for some lunch. That didn’t work out how it was suppose to as my 8 year old and 11 year old niece and my partner were up at 6am due to the banging and the drill saws, and all the noises coming from right next to us (we were again room 222) There was a large amount of construction going on and having it done beginning at 6am is unacceptable and disrespectful. We didn’t go to bed last night until after 2am, I mind you my partner woke up in the night as well due to a smell of exhaust. We normally don’t have any issues when we stay here at the Rodd as we frequently just stayed 2 nights last weekend during a concert. so, we were very disappointed in this stay and had to check out this morning at 8:30am because we couldn’t wait to get home back to NB so we could go to sleep. We traveled 3.5 hrs to come stay and to take our nieces as a one night get away. We paid a fortune just to come stay and it wasn’t even worth it. I did mention to the staff this morning working at the desk that it was not a good stay and explained why and all he said was I will have to let my manager know.. the travel, our time, our stay and the bridge fees just to have our trip partial ruined from exhaustion is definitely not fair.Courtney
