Riviera Beach House

Convenient and comfortable

Liked: Location was fantastic. Close to beach, shopping, restaurants. Rooms are small but modern, clean and comfortable. Popular restaurant in the building that also provides room service. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Noise level. Trash collection really early in the morning, deliveries and trucks backing up also very early, street noise well into the night, close to train tracks.

Expensive and underwhelming with some...

Liked: This is a great location within 5 minutes of the sea front area or the downtown area.
Disliked: This is an expensive hotel for what you get. The room is tiny and the bathroom is not for the bashful. It has a glass door with gaps all around so there is no privacy. Watch out for the Valet parking - $38 dollars a night even though this is not made clear. Also the hotel staff assured me that the security deposit would be returned in 5 days but it took over two weeks. The amount taken was the same as the room cost for the night $270 which seems massively excessive. I tried following this up direct with the hotel but staff couldn't be bothered to help. Would not go back here.

Liked: The location is central to nearly everything you’d like do in Santa Barbara
Disliked: The rooms were quite small, nearly identical to a cruise ship room including a very similar shower set up as well.

Liked: Great location for biking or walking to the beach or wandering up and down Lower State St for shops and restaurants. Clean, minimalist style with the right amount of amenities. Rooms are very compact but work well
Disliked: Shower design was pretty and fit with the style but you have to be careful not to get the bathroom too wet

Disliked: Street noise.
